Yahoo Campaign Endless Spending (11)

Yahoo Campaign Endless Spending

Anyone else having this issue with Oath/Yahoo?

I paused a campaign at 10am EST this morning and it's now 9pm EST and it's still ripping at $50-$100 per hour spend. The entire campaign itself has been paused literally since 10:19am EST. Reached out to rep waiting to hear back. Not sure what to do this thing just keeps dinging me.

I've had the same thing happen with Revcontent...

Only things I can think of:

-Pause both the overall campaign and the individual ads
-Lower bid to 1 penny

That way if the ad server picks up on either of those variables before overall campaign status it will slow it down faster, and

-Take screenshots so that if it was legitimately the networks fault and you need a refund you can show them what happened, etc...

Yep I made videos - I have logs of the adgroup being paused at 10am EST and it's now 10pm EST and it's still spending. It's now spent nearly $1500 past the point where I paused it... and still going.

Almost 24 hours now and this campaign is still ripping and spending. This is unreal. Pretty much anything I had live is still spending on a smaller scale almost 24 hours after I paused everything. However my larger campaign spent another $106 since midnight. Everything's been paused since 10am yesterday. No word from reps yet.

Perhaps take out the payment method? No sure if it will solve spending immediately and how it effects your Yahoo account?

I like Oath and want to continue working with them, I just need this resolved, so I am trying to be patient hoping that they will at least credit me back. Removing my card I am afraid may cause issues or the account to be locked up.

*** I more or less wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue - Campaigns spending for 10+ hours after the pause. In my case 24 hours now. Even my push campaigns that we all know spend beyond the pause period die out a lot faster.

No one else has this problem? Ran more campaigns and it seems everyone of them that I have high budgets set for and spend more than 3k/day when I pause they continue to send you #@# mobile traffic that doesn't convert (even when your bidding up only desktop) for nearly 24 hours after the pause. So when you pause with a positive 25% margin, your margins get siphoned away in the next 24 hours with an additional $25-$75/hour spend for 24 hours of low tier traffic.

Yeah it amazes how they can get away with this. The overspending part isn't even the biggest battle... it's them sending the mobile traffic and charging desktop pricing for it - how they can't tell this is mobile traffic and not desktop is just beyond me.

I have never tried Oath but was reminded of this thread yesterday when I had a Revcontent widget get 4000 clicks so fast my optimizer (which scrapes the data and auto-pauses bots every ten minutes) could block it... total bot traffic too 0 lp clicks...

I never bug the reps but I actually emailed about it... we'll see what they say... it was at a penny bid so didn't kill me or anything but was into the low 3 figures... I know that's part of the game but this one frustrated me because the url it came from keeps creating(?)/using(?) new widget ID's so its impossible to ever permanently block them...

yep I had a push ID that was total crap destroy me once in Revcontent for about $900 over spend. Didn't get a penny back on it.
