Thought I figured it out -- apparently not.
I want to track my impressions so I've got OpenX set up with all my banners on it, linking to my 202 tracking link. Set up zones, websites etc.
The webmaster is hosting the banners.
The only code I get is called Invocation Code (ad tags) from OpenX and the webmaster is asking for my tracking links.
What do I give him? I'm sure it's not the ad tags. How do I get the tracking link? If it's my 202 links, then how do I track my impressions with Open X?
Thanks!
So it can't be done.
Bollocks.
Well when the webmaster is hosting your banners, then i guess he just inserts the image on his page and asks for the "tracking" link as the URL where users go to when they click on the banner?
I only use OpenX the other way around (beeing the webmaster and provide others with the chance to use bannerspace on my website) so maybe i am mistaken
you need to give him ad tags....(iframe or js) Js will get you page data, iframes will not.....
openx should generate a ad tag for you.....but what I would suggest is dropping openx entirely...and just going with adshuffle....or has-offers which has a adserver built in..(just watch your banner size with Ho as it can get to be rather expensive)
I belive with adshuffle you don't really need to have tracking like 202...but you will need to track at the network level....(which is pretty easy as your not dealing with that many subids)
or with HO since its all in one package (tracking and adserver) its easy weasy.....
I have used HO to do buys with and it works fine.....its actually quite nice....and once you have tags in place you can swap banners on the fly....makes testing wicked easy....
you can do that too with adshuffle (or any adserver really)
2nd that on hasoffers and you just use the cheap $249/month edition unless you need API which I doubt it
Thanks for the help guys!
