Multi store - What's the best practise for Google? (6)

Multi store - What's the best practise for Google?

For the product that I'm selling, I would like to do take care of SEO fundamentals to receive some organic traffic in the long term. Because I'm trying to rank for a relatively uncompetitive keyword, I'm motivated to take care of the SEO and wait for the free traffic.

Before I dig into backlinks and other stuff, I need to fix the basics first.

Right now I would like to rank in 3 different countries and for each country, I'm using different Shopify store. Each store has its own subdomain.

Example

it.brandname.com
de.brandname.com
pl.brandname.com
...

What do you think would be the best practice in this case? Can Google detect my landing pages as duplicate-content because the content is exactly the same its just translated to local language?

Is exact match domain still a thing like it was years ago? If this will help me rank faster/higher, I can change the domains and buy new domains with exact match keyword inside.

All suggestions are welcome.

Cheers,
wakeboarder

Hi Wakeboarder,

duplicate content shouldn't be an issue because of the translation, but what you should do is using the href-lang tag to tell google which version is where.
EMDs still work, but if the competition isn't strong you should be able to rank your subdomains. Most important is a proper keyword research, you need certain keywords on a page to rank especially for buying intent phrases.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you need some help there.

Didn't know for this href-lang tag.

Which tools do you recommend for proper keyword research? I have already a list of keywords from Google Ads that I know are converting great, but I would love to do some additional research for this.

Thanks, gunnar!

Subdomains are not the way to go, it is better to use subdirectories so: yoursite.com/de etc...

More information can be found here: https://searchengineland.com/seo-for...anguage-295092

Duplicate content is no problem with translations as long as you use the right tags, refer to the link above for more information.

Keyword domains no longer work, focus on building an international brand. With your brand name (wildboar liquidator) this should be no problem.

@eurosen unfortunately, I cannot use sub-directories because I have for each country separate Shopify installation. It's not the optimal I know but I cannot change this at the moment.

@Wakeboarder...keyword in domain. Definitely. Doesn't have to be an EMD but get the main niche keyword in the domain (you will save yourself a TON of resources if you do so).

Also, if you send me one of your targeted keywords I'll either get or show you the best\easiest way to get the most profitable keywords in the niche.

Or watch my Youtube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88fN4jsrM08

If you don't have the tool I show in the video to get the keywords let me know and I'll run it for you real quick and just send you the excel file.
