Hi,
I've been wondering what would you suggest as the best opt-out option for the financial niche in a PPC campaign? I'm not sure how this works... I've never used any opt-out solution for my users and it occured to me that it actually sucks! I've probably lost a lot of possibilities to squeeze something out from the visitors even though they hadn't decided to go for the main offer.
anyone......?
not sure what you're trying to ask.
You mean exit pop?
ya not really sure what you mean.....explain more.....then i'd be happy to help
Well this used to be this way: the visitor comes to my website and either fills in the form and leaves or leaves immediately without filling in the form. I'd like to give additional options to them. So what can I do next? The exit pop? OK but with what kind of offer for this particular niche?
Do you need help on the technicality of implementing the options you'll give them when they wanna leave?
Or do you need ideas on what to offer when they wanna leave?
Not knowing specifically what offer they're filling out for. I'll be talking in a general sense.
They reached your page for a reason.
Why did they click on your ad?
What is the situation currently like in their life right now?
What else do you think they will most likely sign up for based on the initial motivation to click on your ad?
What type of person are they? (Male? Female? Have kids? Retired? Just started work?)
Let's say this person's a 26 year old female who is looking to get a credit card. And that's why she reached your page.
Shen then decided not to fill out your form.
It's probably not because she doesn't want a credit card. It's probably because the form looks so overwhelming and she says "I'll just fill this out later"
And later never comes.
So, she clicks close.
But wait, your hover pop/exit pop could:
- tell her that some sort of bonus will be given if she fills out the form now (give her a slight nudge)/some sort of promotion will end in 2 hours if she doesnt send her info now
- recommend her other offers that females love (skin care, teeth whitening, weight loss)
- dating offer?
Basically, get into the mind of the user.
Ask yourself tons of questions about the user (4Ws, 1 H).
Who, What , When, Why, How?
Ask the questions verbally. Ask it out loud to yourself. It really helps clarify things and gets more questions out from you.
Before you know it, you would have so many angles and so many offers you don't know which offer to test for the exit pop.
Action steps:
1. Ask youself "Why is the user on my page? Why should he/she fill out the form? Why did he choose not to? What's his current situation/mindset like?"
For technicality of exit pops, use the search bar. Tons of scripts have been shared.
@shanktank: thank you for your post. I will need to look for the technical details as well, but I wanted to know mainly what kind of offers one would propose for this kind of niche. When you sell loans, insurance or other stuff like this, you aim at a specific kind of people. I know how to deliver them the main goods I sell since I've got a lot of experience in that already. However, I have no idea what to give them for the exit pop.
We may, of course, start the whole discussion on what such people would need and expect when they get attracted to such products. Nevertheless, I don't even know where to look for ANYTHING like that and where to start
Sad to admit - I have no experience with that whatsoever. It's easy to find the main product to advertise... But there is much more that can be squeezed out of the visitors. Maybe some guides on how to earn money online for instance? But I don't really know
Any ideas guys?
Are we talking clickbank digital type products or cpa offers here?
Are you in any cpa networks?
Yes I'm in a CPA network and I believe that digital type products might be a good idea in this case. Nevertheless, I started this thread to also hear your opinions
if digital type products then what exactly would you suggest for this niche?
What do you think after asking the questions about your target market?
they are probably in a financial crisis... they probably need a loan or an idea on how to solve their problems... this is what immediately comes to my mind now
re: technical details - search for exitpop or "exit pop" on the forum and youll find a couple of scripts. Especially in the PPV section.
@tijn: yeah this is also what I've been looking for, but as I said before, I'm also (if not more) interested in specific offers you'd suggest for this purpose. Since I dont even know what to offer, the technical stuff is the least important for now I guess.
