If you guys would have to host a Wordpress site with worldwide traffic which setup would you go for?
The website will be promoted using different sources of paid traffic so the server needs to be able to handle huge volumes and traffic spikes.
Cloudflare +
- Digitalocean?
- Vultr?
- Other?
Thanks a lot
How much traffic? And how essential is wordpress to what you're doing?
I would look at using a CDN as much as possible for a site with worldwide traffic, ideally by:
1) putting paid traffic landing pages on a separate subdomain hosted on a CDN
or
2) evaluating whether you can use cloudflare's full page cache with your paid campaign landers which puts them on Cloudflare's CDN. The issue is with the url parameters added by trackers and ad-networks, as each unique one triggers a new cache. And it becomes a pain to clear the cache & update content at times.
or even
3) evaluate whether you can live without wordress entirely and instead go fully static with something like hugo CMS + netlify. Everything will be on a CDN then.
Cloudflare is a must for this project?
