Hi Guys,
I have a domain I am looking at doing something with www.beatsflippingburgers.com I was thinking about using it to document my journey in crypto trading / forex trading as an alternative to having a low paying job, If I started to build this would the domain name effect any SEO for searches such as forex trading or crypto trading seeing the domain name is a random saying ?
- I was also thinking of maybe creating an unique / cool job website that students could look at to find other jobs besides working at McDonalds or places like that I haven't decided which way I will go yet but as the domain name has no real relevance to these two ideas could if effect any SEO in the future? like would forextradinglearning.com as an example be better OR is it more about content these days.
Cheers
The importance of the domain name when it comes to SEO, is way lower than it used to be. But still, it plays some role of course.
Builing a brand is more important these days, so coming up with some easy to remember brandable domain, might be a better approach than stuffing the target KW into your domain at all cost. You still have other places where you can have the keywords you need ... H1, H2 ... tags, metas, subdomains, subpages, subdirectories etc.
EMD do have a role in SEO. And personally i'd buy a trading course from "forextradinglearning.com" rather than "www.beatsflippingburgers.com"

Although I can see the branding point for certain cases, in your case, I'd go with keywords in domain.
It doesn't have to be an EMD, just get keywords in naturally.
But by getting keywords in domain and building your links correctly (relevant) - this will help you rank for the same keywords with 10x's less resources....literally.
Keywords in domain is actual more powerful than ever when done correctly with the linking.
I'm not a fan of EMD anymore. It also limits the scope of the website if, later on, you want to extend it.
But I'm a fan of having the main keyword in the domain name, combined with 1-2 words that make it brandable.
So in your case, I'd have crypto in the domain name, for example cryptobeatsburgers.com or so...
Good luck!
Agreed. I will still use EMD for some local sites...but not nearly as much as before.
I always get the main niche keyword in domain though
