Hey everyone,
I *believe* this is a new thing on Revcontent, as I had never seen it until this week, and I couldn't find any info on it on here or on MAD Society, so thought I'd leave a post for anyone else who experiences it and needs help.
Revcontent is obviously notorious for vastly overspending people's budgets if the targeting is incorrect.
I had 650$ spend on a 100$ budget due to my own fault in accidentally selecting every targeting option including push, and one gentleman I heard about through the grapevine had 12,000$ (yes thousand) spend on a 100$ budget in an hour or two (although this was of course credited back to him).
Likely as a result of this, I've been getting lots of my new Revc camps blocked and labeled as "Pending Overspend" for the last week, which I had never seen before now.
Usually this is if you include too many devices and/or geo's and/or targets, etc with a low budget.
In my experience the camp won't spend as long as that label is on it. Its just like 'frozen' despite having the ads approved.
It takes a couple days but I've found removing targets or geo's and narrowing down your overall targeting can it taken off, or just increasing your budget to something huge like 5000$ just to trigger it to come off, etc will get rid of it.
Or you could just re-upload an identical campaign with more narrower targeting and turn the original one off.
But yeah, slightly annoying but better than people experiencing massive overspend like that I guess.
If for some reason this is not new and I just never saw it before then my apologies, but pretty sure its new. Either way I couldn't find any info on it so wanted to make this post for anyone else's benefit in the future
Thanks for the heads up. Haven't seen that yet!

Thanks Jack for the heads up!
You're on a roll with sharing valuable tips - much appreciated!

Good info, thanks. I had an overspend just last week, luckily they refunded me.
I had a long talk with my rep and he said he's more than happy to review any new campaign before I put it live. Got a lot of good tips so far...I bet you guys can send over your new campaigns to your reps too
I have my experience with them too, but more in the line with their "standard" overspends of like $500 on $100 budget, but 12k I've never heard of
Who the hell deposits $12k at one go?
lol
