100k+ email list for my startup EMAIL EXPERTS ADVICE needed thanks in advance :)

Hello im launching a SAAS startup and i need email marketer/ experts advice. I had a company previously in the same niche and had well over +100k satisfied customers ( been 4 years ) anyways what i did was i saved all the processing emails and contact form emails and cleaned up duplicates. My SAAS is almost ready for launch and i was wondering what is the best route for me & how do I offer them a trial without mentioning the previous company and getting a great interest and clicks to the offer ? my backend is all built out and done ready to go just putting few small final touches to front end and i can handle pretty good volume but i have zero experience in email marketing what do you guys advise me and can you refer me to a trusted expert email marketer ? thanks for taking your time and reading this post hope you have a wonderful day .

any advice will be helpful thanks.

Without connecting to the previous company, how do these people know about how you got their email?

If you have a SaaS that you want to be there for the long-term, I'd carefully try to think how you "explain" to the list how you got their email. That is, if you don't want to seem spammy.

One idea would be to make a 5-10 email sequence where you re-engage them and explain what is going on at least a little bit. One thing to consider is also which domain you send from. If you send to 100k+ people from your main domain, and people start reporting it as spam, you'll have issues with future emails. Not sure what the best solution is for this. Maybe have 2 very similar domains, and move the engaged emails to your "long-term" domain?

Definitely a very different situation than I am experienced with but context of "why" people get the message is very important for email success.

thanks for your response, unfortunately the previous company is not around and i've been done with that market for 4 + years and want to give it another try , what would i need to give this a try with 1k-5k emails? i dont want to use mailchimp/sendgrid since its a bit spammy but what is your take on it and what do you recommend?

The previous company is done? If so, there is noone to complain about you using the list, so maybe you could actually mention it in the list, to let them know you are reaching out to them as past customers of company X. Not sure about the legal consequences here though, especially in case you have EU people on the list...

Well, there are 2 sides to this.

1) Legal side. Are you even allowed to send emails to these people? I mean, people get spam all the time so not like this stops everyone but it does build into number 2.

2) How do you explain to people why you are emailing them.

If you are legally allowed to send them emails, you just start with the real story, something like "Was doing this, something you liked. Now we're doing this other thing and I thought you would be interested, that it solves a common problem in this market".

But you have to expand that story more of course. Taking batches to test out sounds like a good idea to me.

In terms of ESP - not sure that matters too much. ActiveCampaign seems to have an OK reputation but MailChimp, GetResponse, AWeber and all the common names should be able to handle this stuff initially. The question is more probably about who is less strict on how you got these emails and what business model you have.

If they were geniunely happy customers (for the most part I mean), for a good product, and you are offering them something also good, that solves a problem, I don't believe you have to overthink this too much. Explain with the situation with sales in mind, focus on putting them in the right frame of mind and then ask them to try your product out.

Off the top of my head 5 emails:
1. Got your email because we're the same people behind product X. We're working on something new and we wanted to tell you about it. It solves X, Y, Z problems. We'll show you the cool stuff in the next 4 emails. Hope you're cool with that. Here's where you can also check it out if you are eager.
2. Solution to problem X, tell them where to check it out.
3. Solution to problem Y.
4. Solution to problem Z
5. Product solves X, Y, Z and everyone who signs up now gets "some" discount/special offer, whatever. Go get it here.

I'm writing this from the perspective of a customer honestly. If a company did that, I'd think "OK, interesting. Let me see what they are offering, even though I didn't exactly opt in for these emails".

Does that help?

its not legal its personal reasons why i dont want to mention the previous company all though all my customers were 100% satisfied and happy and this involves a really small unique niche which wont take much to inform them and educate them on the topic

Well then you answered yourself, it's not legal so there are risks involved, they will complain for sure and that could cause trouble ... the least that can happen would be to run into trouble with whatever service you're gonna use to mail it out. So if you decide to do it, definitely don't use email/website that you plan to use for the future.
