I personally hate them and have always removed them when ripping landing pages.
But...I keep seeing them so they must be working? I guess?
Do you guys use intro popups on your dating landers?
It messes with the flow ... and will influence the final CVR, sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad one. Depends on what you want to open in the POP.
For example the alerts usually improve the performance, since they grab the users attention and make the LP stand out ...
But if you open another ad in the POP, that can have a negative effect on the original funnel ... but it can make something extra with the new one.
This has to be tested to see how much it affects the funnels you are working with.
Personally, Im mostly NOT using this, but there are cases where I do and the final result is better.
I ran a quick test this morning with 2 campaigns (desktop and mobile) to see the difference in CTR and Conversion rate with an intro pop saying something like... This is a site where you can f#ck girls in your area..
Surprisingly the landers with the intro pop alert had a better ctr and cvr.
Quite happy with this discovery, will do some more testing with these type of alerts.
I am also considering something else... Open the offer links in a new tab (target blank) and set a meta refresh at the page and load a different offer on that page.
Anyone tried this?
I am facing an issue with my intro pop which mainly seems to occur on mobile devices.
When the page loads the page is grey and it only show the intro pop and only show the page when the intro pop has been clicked.
Has this got something to do with where the intro pop is placed? I currently load it in the header.
Would it be better to move it down just before the closing </body> tag?
Thanks
After talking to my traffic rep I decided not to continue with the intro pops.
It seems that quite a few websites block advertisements from sites with a pop on the lander
I don't use intro pops.
I think it messes with lead quality. You may make more money initially, but I rather stay on a profitable offer longer.
Again just my experience.
Quality over Quantity...
Something which took me a while to figure haha.
Used to run huge volumes of pops to dating offers only to be kicked off the offer just when I had my funnel optimised :-(
It depends what your strategy is. I don't like to run the whole "churn and burn" strategy as I prefer once I find a good offer to just ride it for as long as possible.
Plus I feel gettin booted off offers left and right is probably not the best way to build a relationship with your network/advertisers.
At the end of the day it's a business, and advertisers have to make money too for this whole ecosystem to work.
Again it's all a matter of personal preference.
