Newbie with a budget question
Hey all!
I'm new to the forum and I've been all over this forum reading everything I can for the past month. I'm really loving the site and excited to get started but I have some budget questions.
I'm going to be starting with Amy's/Vortex 40 day trial for mobile pops. I know I'm going to be using Binom (for the price, and I can learn from GregMorison's post on setup and challenges along the way). I haven't decided on a vertical yet but I want to stick to something mainstream (non adult).
I've just recently paid off all my credit cards
, and I still have a 3K loan that I'm working on paying off. I make good money at my day job as an engineer and I have about $1K-1500 to spend each month on my campaigns.
I know many have suggested a budget of $3K as a good starting point, so I'm wondering what I should do. I already have adplexity mobile so that's not included in the 1K-1500 budget I have for spending on my ads.
Should I :
A) bank my money for 1-2 months so I have a $3K budget to spend on 1 month of learning?
B) jump in and be super selective and strict with optimizing?
Thanks in advance! Sorry I write like a 5 year old
lol

Hey bcollins506!
First of all welcome to STM!
As for your questions:
Should I :
A) bank my money for 1-2 months so I have a $3K budget to spend on 1 month of learning?
B) jump in and be super selective and strict with optimizing?
It doesn't mean you need to have all that $3k at the same time.
Yes it's better to have the money, but as you have income and you are already here on STM and also paid for a spy tool and tracker, you can start slowly working towards launching your first campaigns.
Have you already decided with a traffic source? Each source fits for different vertical.
Also I recommend you to start a follow along, to "insure" your first steps and get some insights from experienced affiliates
Wish you all the best man!
Erik

Hey bcollins506, if you going to follow Amy's course - start with sweepstakes as per course, later you can choose whatever you want. STM have many members who is killing with sweeps so i highly recommend to start a follow along. Good luck for giving away iPhones

You guys are awesome! I'm stoked lol. I was worried about starting with such a small budget but I'm going to dive in and work with what I have. As I mentioned I have a full time job so I'm not worried about losing the 1k (even though that is definitely alot lol) but I'm dedicated to starting my own business and I believe AF is going to get me there.
Love the support, thanks!

Don't worry about the budget to much at this point ... it will take you several days, possibly weeks to go through the tutorial and really understand all the concepts. During this process, you should keep your spendings low anyways, only when you find something that shows promise, and only when you are totally sure you understand the process ... then it's time to start testing o a larger scale and that's when the budget will be needed. As you have a "regular" job, you can stack the budget in the meantime.

Hi bcollins506,
Welcome to STM!
My story is same like you. I am also into full time job like you. I guess for the first month, this budget is sufficient.
All the best
