Retargeting For Easy Profits $$$

How do you guys retarget with your affiliate offers?

I mean in the ecom world we use to send people to different pages depending on the action they took on the previous click etc.
But as we generally should not direct link to the sales page/ order form, what is the best tactic do maximize the ROI for those clicks.

Don't see a lot of affiliates talk about making bank from their retargeting...

Do you send them to the same LP?
Do you send them to another piece of content?
Or do you DL to the offer?

I haven't retargeted affiliate offers but sending 'em to another piece of content with more aggressive CTAs would be good enough to bank, i think. I won't do direct linking because you can't track data in DL.

I see some of the top affiliates on Revcontent/Outbrain using retargeting effectively (if I'm understanding it right). I believe they pixel anyone who lands on the landing page, and then run re-targeting ads through display, usually linking to a version of the vsl where the cart is already out rather than the regular one.

I am going to try to figure out the same myself because it must give a distinct advantage I would think.

I'm also looking at Revcontent-Retargeting itself. I haven't encountered many folks using it though... other than big brand ecom shops and stuff.

If anyone has any expertise to share on this issue would be much appreciated!

The inventory for retargeting on Revcontent itself is pretty limited in my experience, like maybe 1-2% of daily spend, but it's good ROI and easy to setup. I'd just start with the same same ads and landers even - no need to go crazy coming up with different angles in the beginning.

Hey thedudeabides- thanks for the tip! Highly appreciate it!

If you don't mind me asking, do you use any other retargeting around your native campaigns? Like inserting a facebook pixel or retargeting through other display networks?

Another thing I've been seeing on Revcontent is a back-button-redirect to what is effectively a 'wall' page full of proto-ads linking to other lp's on the same url. Almost like a back-redirect to a 'trending now' page full of what are effectively ads for other products the affiliate is running.

Not sure if Revcontent gets grumpy about those or if they don't care. All the ones I've seen are just a single redirect you can overrule with one extra click, so nothing too aggressive, but I would imagine it adds a few percentage points to roi at least. I was thinking of experimenting with something similar but as a pop up, then seeing how that goes before doing a full redirect script.

I don't use facebook pixel or other retargeting pixels because the kind of campaigns I run on revcontent are typically not allowed on other sources. I'm sure there are retargeting options that do however, perhaps sitescout or even VoluumDSP.

Back-button is a good 2-3% revenue boost, just re-using same LP - again no need to get complicated with a trending page to start off.

Recently I've been having some ads be disapproved though citing back-button behaviour so they may be changing their tune on such scripts.

I started doing retargeting with affiliate campaigns earlier this year and those are definitely one of those with the highest ROI.

Got some running since August, pretty much on autopilot.

Sending them directly to the offer at the moment, as they are already familiar with it, but approaching them with another angle may worth a try as well.
