FAQ Lead Gen Sweeps - Part 1

Hey Guys,
I'd like to start answering some basic questions about lead gen sweeps. Part 2, etc.. will hopefully come soon.
Please let me know if I shall clarify or add more details into a specific topic. Any questions are more than welcome.
Vince

What is lead gen?
Lead Generation is the process of supplying leads (individuals) to clients (brands/agencies) who have the potential of being converted into customers.

What is a sweepstake?
It is a prize draw where users can participate (for SOI/DOI offers, registration is free). Example below: https://www.ukprizecompetition.com/?freetest_pk=95
What is a successful conversion (SOI/DOI/Hybrid)?
Usually advertisers require at least a SOI (Single Opt In) conversion. User need to provide their gender, name, surname, email address, full postal address, date of birth and phone number. It can be either a one-page registration or two pages.
The DOI (Double Opt In) requires the user to first register on the SOI and then confirm its email address. The user will get an email and will simply have to click on the link to confirm.
Sometimes advertiser can offer a hybrid model. This means that you get paid on the SOI and when the user confirm his email address, you are paid for the DOI. If the user does not fill in the DOI, you are still paid for the SOI!

Who are the lead gen clients?
Some of the more widely supplied verticals for consumer lead gen included Insurance companies, Energy Clients, Telcos, E-Com sites and call centers
Any company which would need new clients, new users, a fresh database, new prospects or leads could ask a lead gen company to help them out.
How does it work?
Users are shown campaigns (Coreg) that fit their profiling. If the select yes to any of the campaigns, this information is transmitted to the client.
The more campaigns the user would answer, the more valuable it becomes, the more times the advertiser can export it’s datasets to clients.
So, the affiliate gets paid when the user registers on the SOI step, the advertiser monetize the dataset on the next step during the Coreg process.

Which advertiser shall I work with?
- Look for long lasting advertisers. The one that do not disappear when they owe their affiliates some money ;-)
- Look for affiliates that offer decent payment terms: if you generate 1000€ on a weekly basis with a decent quality, you should be entitled to get a weekly payment with NET10 terms max.
- Look for account managers who are responsive. An answer within max 24 hours should be a requirement
- Look for fellow affiliates recommendations
- Look for advertiser who are attending conferences like Affiliate World Conferences, Affiliate Summits or smaller similar conferences.

Who are the big lead gen sweeps advertisers in the industry?
Advertisers active in multiple geos: Kobi Digital, GPM, Big Bang Ads (eGENTIC) to name a few.

Who are the big networks focusing on lead gen sweeps?
I’m talking here about networks that have lead gen sweeps as one of their core vertical: ClickDealer, Advidi, MundoMedia, AdThink

Pros and Cons of work through a network or direct with advertiser?
Network:
- Pro’s:
o can run multiple vertical with one network
o can find the same offers than with the advertiser
o Payment terms. Easier to get weekly payment especially if you run multiple vertical.
o More type of payment may be available (bank wire, Paypal, Payoneer, etc…)
o Some network may pay you even though they don’t get paid by the advertiser (to keep their reputation high), but most of them would not do that…

- Con’s:
o Network take a cut in your payout, varies from 5% to 30%, sometimes even more. The more intermediaries you will have the less payout you will get!
o You potentially could be scrubbed/shaved twice (advertiser & network)

Advertiser:
- Pro’s:
o direct touch with the offer owner
o will have the highest payout
o you’re only scrubbed/shaved once!
o Faster feedback loop

- Con’s:
o Harder to do Blackhat - More likely to be caught if your flow is misleading
Many advertisers have now their own network, in order to reach affiliates directly – that could be a valuable option if you find them!

FAQ Lead Gen Sweeps - Part 1

This could create an interesting thread where we can discus lead gen in general! Thanks for this.

eGentic has always been consistent, know them for at least 10 years now. I remember the ugly grey “win a Minicooper” landing pages which converted big time!

I would like to add Response Concepts to the direct advertisers, great conversion rates!
