If you had to promote dating, would you go direct or with network?

Hi,
I was wondering, if you guys had to promote dating offers for T1 , would you go direct or work with network and why?
My reason working with ad network is casue they have many different offers I can test and work with few companies at once, most of the times I even can get higher PO than I would get direct.
Plus, I can use many build in prelanders from the network that the direct product cant provide.
What do you think?


If you had to work direct T1 dating, what companies you would choose? besides dating.con and match.com?

Hello,

i'm in the Dating space since 2 years now. and what i have experienced so far is if you have a very good direct advertiser then go direct.
Direct means
-higher payout 90% of the time
-long relation built with this advertiser meaning if you do good numbers with him,you can get early access or even exclusive stuff for you,which i had once and i felt like i'm the owner and advertiser of the offer,so very high profit margin.

on the other side, i found the disadvantages may be the same between network vs direct
mostly the problem is the scrubbing or shaving your leads, or not paying .. i experienced this with both network and advertiser. (NEED TO KEEP IT IN MIND) at least in this vertical.

in conclusion i would suggest you to go with network first most of the time until you find a very good offer that you can scale BIG BIG 100%, then switch direct.
sometimes if you do very good on an offer the advertiser may ask the network to contact you and he starts with offering you good stuff to go direct (that's the best results you can get from working in this vertical )

This.

Both have pros and cons. You've to figure out what works good for you. Network can offer much more offers for testing and a good network will settle payment and cash flow for you. Direct advertiser will help you with better payouts and exclusive stuff.

Sometimes you get Revshare Dating offers in Networks as a PPL campaign what can be more interesting for you...

This would be my suggestion too ... going with networks gives you more freedom, more offers to chose from, easy to swich when an offer goes down, some level of protection against not getting paid, faster payouts etc ... on the other hand, the network still has to make $$$ on your traffic, so they can never pay you more than then the offer owner.

I would pick an offer that you have some indication that could work, Try one of the spy tools and pick your offer. Then try running it from a network, they usually also give you the quality report on the traffic your driving to the offer. And once you see you have a traffic source that creates a steady flow of conversions your way, register to the official affiliate program wit more confidence. Like some of you guys mentioned here, you have a whole lot more freedom when you work with networks.
