Free Photoshop Alternative - Photopea

Just saw this on Reddit, first time hearing of it but it seems quite decent. Works in your browser and it's extremely similar to PS, completely free too. Might come in handy when you need to get some quick banners done:

Wow this is actually quite legit. Someone's going to have Adobe knocking on his door real soon...

Damn!

They've copied Photoshop's interface too

Thanks for the tip!

I find myself using Paint for almost everything except scripts/fonts which I then upload the image to photoshop for, so I'll check this out- maybe can finally get rid of my photoshop subscription

It's a great tool. Used it around 2 months ago!

Worked great with a 150 MB .psd file, so nothing but impressive!

I do hope Adobe doesn't sniff this guy out and shut it down especially after the recent Reddit publicity - he's put so much time (7000 hours!) and effort into it. But yeah, considering Adobe's money-draining subscriptions it's no wonder tools like this are popping up.

It could easily happen.

Best would be to go full open source, then nobody can stop it anymore

Open source is a good idea and no one would be able to stop or shut it down.

Certainly doesn't look like they're planning on going open source:

But free use with just a few ads is amazing compared to PS's subscription.

Very impressive tool - need to share this with the newsletter! Thanks @shishev!
