Do I need a Pro tracker to start? (17)

Do I need a Pro tracker to start?

Hi,

I'm new to AM, and I plan to start running some offers on propellerads . Can I start to just use their simple (I believe) tracker? or I really need to go ahead and sign up for Voluum or other similar pro tracker to succeed?

I ask the question for two reasons:
1- First to save money at the beginning when I'm still testing the waters
2- To start with the tracking basics and understand these. After I fully understand the ones available on propeller ads I will consider using a more advanced software.

Thanks in advance.

Hello!

To be honest Voluum is one of the best trackers for AM, but there are still some good ones with better price:
Thrive
Binom
These have server versions so you can easy install it to your server and not to pay big money for clicks.

I'm not aware that Propeller does have their own tracker.

If you mean the "Tracking tab" thats actually about setting up postbacks to your external tracker.

If you will run offer directly without using tracker it will be your disadvantage right away:

1) You will lose the ability to split test landers/offers
2) You won't be able to see small details like which zone and OS, ISP etc. combination made profit

You will basically throw sh*t against the wall, so to say.

You may make some random conversions, but you won't be to fully understand where they came from and so on.

Both Voluum and Binom are solid choices.

Whereas Binom is a cheaper solution at the moment.

Cheers.

Bemob has a free tier that is good enough to get started, but it's best to move over to one of the better solutions once you are ready to start doing any real volume. You don't want to wait until you have a shit ton of campaigns then have to move them all over

Thank you!

After reading your feedback and the other 2 below I conclude that a good tracker is a must if I want to succeed.

Cheers,
Paulo

Clear now that I need a tracker. Will try Voluum. I understand that it is more expensive but believe that it is easier to set up and a better product.

Tracker is a truly foundational item of affiliate marketing and its a cost the business really shouldn't skimp on is my 2 cents.

Binom, Funnelflux are the latest 2 we've used, Voluum we used before but wanted to try something different and pricing was changed. Binom is a good one for noobies because of the good support they have. All of them have staff members on this forum so you should get questions answered regardless of who you choose.

You'll need a good tracker for sure, it's backbone of affiliate marketing.

If you don't wanna get hands dirty with self hosted tracker and wanna play with cloud tracker but with low price - check out RedTrack. It's cloud based and cheap too!
Self hosted tracker is good for POPs otherwise event based trackers will become too costly, when you need to scale up.

Thank you Leadcloak. Went quickly to check their website and it is quite a price difference on the first tiers. Will watch their youtube videos to see if I'm comfortable with it.
One more time, thank you for your help.

Let me chime in too ... tracker is a must, there is no way around it, you simply need good data to look at and use for optimization. WIthout proper tracking, it's like shooting blind.

Other have suggested a few alternatives already, I would skip Voluum if I was in your shoes ... since it's the most expensive from the available choices, unless you commit to a yearly plan for example ... which you probably wont as you're just starting out and dont know how its gonna work out for you.

Binom seems to be the most popular with newbies now... but I didn't see Adsbridge mentioned, they have 14-day free trial and a reasonably priced monthly plan at $89.

Keep one thing in mind when choosing based on price ... self hosted trackers also need a server or at least a VPS, cloud hosted come with hosting included but charge for events (clicks, lp clicks ...).

Cloud hosted are easier to work with, since you dont need to mess with hosting, but they tend to me more expensive.

But whichever from the mentioned ones you will pick, it's gonna do the job just fine, they are all solid options.

Thank you Matuloo. I'm clear now that I need a tracker. I was going for the redtrackio as In watch their videos and looks like a solid and simple to use product. Is the adsbridge also cloud hosted?

Yes, Adsbridge is cloud (AWS) hosted. They provide 50,000 free events for testing.

Thank you. I most certainly if everything goes as planned use Voluum in future. I understood from this great forum that you are on the top in terms of tracker solutions. By being on the top as the best solution I trully understand that you are on top in terms of pricing also. As I'm just starting out I will go with something more "light" and affordable and as soon as I believe that AM is to go on full speed I will move to the best tracker= Voluum.
Thank you for reaching out with support!

Hey Paulo you've gotten a ton of good guidance and I have nothing to add. But if you're considering Voluum then you may want to take advantage of this STM-exclusive discount:
