I have a store that is selling digital goods (MMO game currency). I have recently finished a book called eCommerce evolved by Tanner Larsson and author grasps about mining data from eCommerce platform to use it for segmentation purposes. As my platform is custom built, i have to detail my developer exactly what i want to export/sort. My list so far consists of:
Prospect list
Customers list
Inactive Customers
Customers segmented by product purchases/amount spent.
Length of time before a prospect becomes a customer
Length of time between customer buys
Repeat purchasers
Customer location and demographic
Life time value of a customer
Average order value
Are there more important segments that i am missing?
For AUTO emailing i can either build a custom automailer or go with klaviyos API, do you guys have any suggestions which option to choose?
Also how do i go about segmenting customers in regards of current customer life cycle stage. Is there something like universal formula or do i have to figure this out in my own business.
Do you use an analytics tool as it seems like some of your requests are basic features and more in analytics tools like;
Cohorts by purchase timeline
Segment by demographic
Segment by source
Light behaviours over time you could utilise
You could install a container tag across your site which you install your analytics tracking code within.
