Looking to promote an app and pay for installs. Tips?

I'm looking to pay for installs/downloads in a specific geo.

What's the right way to do it nowadays?

I know I can make a "manual" deal with app promotion (probably incent) people, but there's so many options - who's good and trustworthy for this? I've tried SponsorMob, but they're pretty expensive for CPI.

I've seen that LeadBolt offers CPI bidding, which sounds good, but there's a pretty steep minimum deposit - $500 is a bit much just to check if a feature works.

Suggestions and ideas appreciated.

Are you looking for cheap installs? otherwise I've seen many-many advertisers using instagram for apps and games install and that's a great traffic source if you want real user not 1-time incentive users.

Plenty of networks for this; mappstreet, Mobidea, avazu, yeahmobi etc etc Most networks will handle a certain minimum ofcourse, they have to put time and effort in it to bring traffic eventually. Also install/apps have small margins in general so it needs to be worth something!

Otherwise master certain traffic sources yourself, takes time and energy, but you learn a lot and when you succeed you have the whole funnel in your own hands.

I would suggest initially, understanding what are you looking to get out of your users
LTV
Inapp purchases
retention
ROAS

Following that, Leadbolt are showing positive results and consider Liftoff, Cross install or Moloco
(the rest offered in the thread are quite fraudulent)
