Headline length in Revcontent/Native?

Revcontent have this posted, which makes me think headline copy shouldn't be over 12 words or so:

Seems incredibly tight after Adwords - is this true throughout Native?

Each network has their own rules, so you have to refer to those.

It's a headline, so you have to get creative.

It's like when Twitter limited users to 140 characters.

People had to think twice how to form their opinions so they can fit and be understandable.

Good exercise IMHO

Agreed I guess - distill those thoughts!
I found this, which puts the ideal length around 7-10 words.

The creative image makes up for most of the CTR. As in a shitty headline with a great picture will always out perform a shitty image with a great headline. Now master both and you will have cheaper clicks and greater CTR which will put you higher in the AD chain.

Just start off with great headlines you see on adplexity or whichever spy tool you use. use their images and find some images of your own. Then just test which ones do better. From there keep the best performing images then try variants of the headline or use a new angle.

Just my 2 cents.

If anyone is looking for a good free image source I would recommend Pixabay. Great site, its been a life-saver for me in lots of other endeavors. Has hundreds of thousands of pictures and you can do whatever you want with them.

Also stealing images off Adplexity works of course, as noted above. I see a lot of people taking an image and just zooming in a bit more, etc so that it looks different. Or even editing it in paint/photoshop to have a different background.

Wish I could add some wisdom regarding best practices/high ctr's/making money but still new at all this- hopefully soon!

Another great site for loads of free images is Unsplash. I think they tend to be slightly better quality than Pixabay - at least I find myself there more than on Pixabay.

When looking for more photo content, check this post I've put this together last year, not sure if all of them still work, but most should : https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...s-2017-Edition
