Blacklist/Whitelist criteria

Hi guys,

wich criteria should i consider to optimize a RON campaign (ex. Exoclick) with blacklist or whitelist mode?

Conversions? CTR? Cost?

Wich strategy is the most effective for a beginner?

Thanks

I'd say conversions. Let's say if I've spent 9$-11$ for a 1$ offer and haven't got any conversation then i'd cut that lander without a second thought (that was just my strategy).
There is guide in STM for testing and cutting landers - https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...to-find-winner

Let's see what other big players would say for this.

Hi LeadClock thank you for your reply.

Also i'm talking about the criteria to manage the traffic sources (websites) inside a network, wich criteria should i use to drop bad performing websites (blacklist) or to keep only with the best one (whitelist).

I'm running a RON campaign on Exoclick and after 2 days testing i have a huge list of websites, some bring me lots of visits while other shows a good CTR. How can i manage this list in order to optimize the campaign?

Thanks

Exo is quite hard to work with, they have a huge amount of small publishers and tons of small sites, often with very poor quality.

For bigger volume, blacklist is a better approach, with whitelists you will limit yourself a lot ... in some cases its better to use WLs though, depending on a specific camp.

First round of optimization would be to drop placements that have very poor CTRs ... so if after 2000 impressions(for example) you see no clicks on the banner or very poor CTR like 0.02% or so, you can cut that placement as it wont be possible to make profit with those. You can also block those that have very high CTRs ... anything close to 1% is suspicious, unless it's some format that is known to produce high CTRs ... video overlays, interstitial etc ...

Next you need to focus on ROI ... but optimizing for ROI wont be possible without conversions, so you need to identify those placements that are able to convert, fine-tune your funnel on those, then open up the targeting and focus on ROI.

Why don't you try the ExoClick Bidder feature to optimise your campaigns, it will automatically block ad zones that don't convert for you after you set the blocking criteria. Read up on it here in ExoClick's FAQs https://www.exoclick.com/help/?token...r-how-it-works
