Anyone here use Kintura?
Haven't found any threads about it, I guess they're still too new.
But from their website they seem pretty good, really good value for price IMO.
Anyone here who happens to use it let me know your experience, tips, etc.
Also it's the first tracker I've ever used also as I'm a noob.

LOL the last part. Just looked it up. Seems like they have a 14 day free trial so just test it out. ask questions see how good their service is.

Never used them! I'd say -
Go with
Voluum.
Go with
Binom, if you need self-hosted tracker.
Go with redtrack, cloud-hosted and cheap too!

Haha yea I've been using it for a few days already. Getting the hang of it but still don't exactly understand the technical details all too well.
Their skype support is quite good I must say, but they don't have any videos or much documentation, which is a huge problem for me.

Might check out redtrack, I'd like to stay within my budget and use a cloud tracker atm as I don't want to get too winded up in setting up servers etc.

When you are tight on budget you better don't use cloud hosted.
And you need a server anyway for your landers.
Setting up the server for the tracker is extremely easy, at least on
Binom.
Basically all you need to do is to copy/paste two commands.
Or you just ask the support and they will set it up for you for free.

Ah ok I didn't know its cheaper to do self hosted, I will consider a self hosted tracker when my free trial for this is up.

Hey, if you want to give RedTrack.io a try - you can ping me for demo and on-boarding assistance.
If you are just starting - cloud-hosted is the way to go - whether RedTrack.io or other products.
- no server set-up/maintenance learning / timeloss - like you can start in 10 minutes
- ability test various geo fast without concerns about latency or performance

Aaron from Kintura here. I suspect Binom is helping their customers configure their servers which is a necessary part of any self-hosted software. I think Binom has figured this out but past self-hosted trackers (ones I've personally been hired to re-design) had very poor software AND db design. I've personally worked with mysql-based instances handling 40+ million clicks a day and it falls apart fast if it's not done right. I've also had to work on the affiliate network side in adult in the early-2000s (back when adult sites got traffic) and have quite a bit of experience squeaking every bit of performance out of a server. It's critical that you're aware of scaling requirements, disk io, memory, etc. I would be happy to help anyone configure their servers for a self-hosted tracker (especially Binom); at least if someone wants to start a thread I would be happy to contribute! Without going into too much detail here, just google these to see where you're at...
- if you have very little traffic none of this matters (not judging; I know affiliates who run 5k clicks a day and make more money than God)
- allocate ~80% of memory to mysql
- periodically check that your table indexes fit into memory
- the very moment your indexes exceed memory your tracking and reporting performance will suffer, know the signs
- be aware of disk io limitations of your VM/VPS: So on ec2 this is io1 (provisioned) vs gp2 (general purpose, tied to ebs GB)
- Some providers like DigitalOcean will just shut you down for "excessive io" which they refuse to define
I am pro-Binom, but on what planet is it cheaper to do self-hosted? I reject that claim
-- I don't care if you use Kintura. Use RedTrack. It will always be cheaper than self-hosted.
Think of tracking like panning for gold. Ask yourself if you're ready to find "Mr. Pocket" (and try to figure out who the guy with the gun is in this analogy)

Starting with cloud-hosted would be good not just because of server setup. You can also test other geos fast without worrying about redirection latency. And you won't need new license of software to install on new server near your target audience.

The days of redirect latency worries are long gone (at least with Prosper202) because our purlink technology removes the redirect link from the equation and actually adds negative latency. A purlink is even faster than using your standalone affiliate link. No cdn enabled, geo distributed cloud hosted service that uses old school redirects can come close to the speed of a purlink.
Additionally, Prosper202 has had unlimited licenses for over a year now. 1 flat fee and you can install it on 1 million of your servers if you need.
There are still some cons to self hosted, eg database management at scale which has been mentioned above. But even that will be less of an issue in the coming months as more automatic dba tools get built into self-hosted. Plus when you host on AWS you get access to the same scalable database technologies many cloud solutions use.
It’s a great time to be a performance marketer. Competition among trackers has gotten hotter and hotter. Any one in the space that wants to stay relevant must keep innovating or die.
A big welcome to the Kintura team!
