I'm just wondering what kind of breakdown do you guys use when you send your sources' IDs to advertisers.
I mean, do you post every campaign on traffic source to advertisers or you just have an ID per traffic source in total?
As for example, I used to send all of my campaigns as different sources and it helps in terms of optimization (I can cut some of them instead of pausing all traffic). On the other hand there are a lot of campaigns with low traffic volumes and it's hard for advertisers to evaluate their effectiveness.
So, I'm thinking to group my campaigns per traffic source and send it as one subid. But it would be nice to see STMers' thoughts on this before testing new approach.
I'm always passing IDs per campaign. With some advertisers, I'm also sending IDs for LPs and banners in an effort to really figure out what combos are producing the best results.
It also depends on your setup and what kind of sources you are using of course.
For me I send sub IDs by traffic source.
If you're sending more "gray area" traffic, you definitely want to separate them from your quality traffic sources in case you get paused.
You can send campaign's ID, and then YOU will also know what traffic source it is etc.
