Question about Sweeps on MGID (17)

Question about Sweeps on MGID

I'm trying to understand what LPs are accepted for MGID. I see in Adplexity some pubs running LPs that make false claims (like partnering up with Apple to get rid of iPhone X stock etc) which is against their terms, but it looks like there's a lot of people doing this judging by Adplexity.

Are people just cloaking the traffic source to run this? Are they just submitting a clean LP first and then swapping it with more aggressive ones later?

Sorry if this is a super basic question.

Hey!

Actually MGID allows these type of landers if it's not too aggressive. But I recommend always ask the support. I really don't recommend to cloak your sources because it's better to build long-time relationship.

I specifically asked my rep on MGID about this a while ago. He said the creative team rejected everything in the flow: the creatives, the landers, and the offer type itself.

However I too have seen ads for CC subs/sweepstakes (specifically phones) running on MGID so I have no idea why some got through. Maybe connections on the moderation team, or maybe some lenient compliance guys want to allow it just for big spenders. Hard to say.

All I can share is my experience and based on my AM's response, the compliance team does not want anything to do with these kinds of offers on MGID. If anyone has another story I'd be interested to know how you got them approved.

Same experience here recently, although they were OK with the offer type, just not these landers you see in Adplexity.

Happens with me too bro! Not sure how the other guys are running those ads, either they are doing huge volume so MGID tends to ignore the aggressiveness or cloaking.

What you guys are saying is exactly what I'm trying to figure out. I've gone through like 3 revisions of my LP to see if the next more clean version can get approved (doing this through their traffic manager Yuri). The one talking about Playster got approved for me in English, but then when I translated it to another language (EXACT same content/text) it got rejected.

For the one I just submitted, I removed all company names and basically wrote the semi-truth about how they'll get free trial for entertainment platform...will see if it gets approved.

They did approve all the iPhone sweeps offer pages though.

Are the other pubs starting with a clean LP and then swapping?

After reading the above responses, i think it's cloaking. They are running aggressive lander after getting approved by mgid. Good Luck pryda5.

Happened with me again today. The ads which are doing good on RC and were approved without any issue got rejected on MGID because of the claims made on Landing Page.

Look like many people are unhappy with MGID, it sucks for me too
Ads take long to get moderated and then what i submit gets refused, exactly similar ads submitted by other got approved and running
Fuunny thing is that the rep tries to sound clever saying am not rplying to his email when he never replied to any of mine
To be continued....

Yea if they're not going to accept Sweeps then just disapprove the offer so we don't have to waste time with their bullshit.

I got a LP approved by the rep and moderators, then when I submitted it as a campaign it got rejected. And their reasoning is complete bogus.

Hey Guys, In general, the industry standard is to not make false claims on what you are running. That has always been the case. So, if it's something that is simply not true, you will probably get banne. MGID are very strict in regard to their compliance.
In a different note, if you are running Sweepstakes on Native with MGId, I would strongly urge you to try your Sweeps offers on our Push notification traffic, we have been seeing for the pest months some awesome results with Sweepstakes on Push traffic. It's something really off the charts. If you wanna hear more feel free to send me a PM
Cheers

I don't even know why guys are running on MGID.

The traffic source is awful.

We never run MGID. Only Taboola, Revcontent, and GDN.

Need help getting started? PM me.

Seems like with MGID a lot of the approval process is subjective and the individual AM's have more leeway with judgement calls.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that MGID is an awful traffic source.

Yes - Their overall quality is lower compared to other major traffic sources, however it's still very possible to make campaigns work there if you understand the traffic source and how to work with their inventory and tools provided.

I've run Campaigns on both MGID and Revcontent. In my experience, MGID traffic performed better and was way more stable, RevContent traffic is infested with bots. I know that this is the case for every ad platform, but it is definitely more noticeable on RevContent compared to MGID.

Revcontent might be the better option once you get some good blacklists/whitelists

Actually, MGID has a really good quality. But it depends on GEO. In some countries it can be 300% ROI, but there are geos where I absolutely can't work. So it's like in POP. All sources have their strong and soft geos. And if you tried 1 GEO - it doesn't mean that the source is bad. Just try some more geos/offers/landers.
