Facebook pixel in CAKE

Hi all,

I’m working with an affiliate network that uses CAKE. Has anyone managed to get the FB pixel to work by adding it as a pixel in the cake platform? I want to set it up so it fires the purchase event back upon conversion.

Is that possible?

Thanks

Yeah, did that for quite some time.

Cake is not so bad for that.

Is it just not firing for you?

The issue I had when I just copied the code FB gives is that Cake didn't like Facebook's indentation, so you have to delete all the "tabs"... So it looks something like this: http://prntscr.com/l5a5n8

Hey Sam, it’s definitely possible to use a Facebook pixel in Cake through a network. However, it’s essential that the advertiser also supports the use of a Facebook pixel on their confirmation page. Quite some advertisers actually do not support the use of Facebook pixels, because the initial tracking between a network and advertiser setup can be setup as either server to server (postback) tracking or pixel tracking. Pixel tracking allows the use of Facebook pixels. I’d recommend to check with your affiliate manager whether the offer you’re trying to promote actually supports the Facebook pixel :-).

Of course it’s also possible to place a pixel on (for example) the last page of your own pre-lander. However, that will be a less accurate way of optimising since it’s not based on actual sales.
