'Authority site' + email sequence vs one hit landers

New here, first ever STM question...

My background is building a trusted brand in a niche, driving traffic from Facebook and Google Ads to email signups, and then building trust via email. The email sequence would basically build trust and authority, then help them solve their issues with various products/services I'd created.

In STM Forum I'm reading a lot of talk about disposable one page landers that redirect straight to affiliate offers, and I can't see much about capturing emails and repeat sales.

That's really interesting. Why are people choosing the one page route over building a brand?

People like fast short term money. Instant gratification is a hell of a thing

90% of affiliates have 2 major defining characteristics.. they are lazy and they are dumb.
The other 10% make it.

Proper setup celador would be.. getting people in the lead funnel, give them a quick option to buy something during the process (just for those who are super inclined to do so) but as a side offer,
then slowly massaging on the backend with a multitude of offers. But go beyond email.. go into push notifications and chat msgs.

That's my thinking, because selling to someone you already have has got to be easier and cheaper than buying new customers.
Plus you're building a sellable asset.
OK. On the theory that truth wins in the end, the plan is to run a completely white hat campaign to an honest crypto info site making honest recommendations about crypto services via a long messaging funnel as you suggest johner911.
When I look at the scam ads that are out there that are total lies but presumably cleaning up - are we just going to get crushed?

True, most of affiliates are lazy and do not take that extra step.

But the harsh reality is coming, online marketing space is getting more and more competitive year by year and only the strongest will be able to hold.

Btw regarding email and sellable asset.

I think it adds value only if you can prove that you are able to monetise that list, if you only have a list, but that's it, it will not add much of an additional value to the buyer.

Most of affiliate need quick numbers like ROI or ROAS. When someone capture email, CTR goes to the lowest rate. We calculate our ROI on end of the day and email can't give fast ROIs.

AND monetization of email is another topic.

Btw regarding email and sellable asset.

I think it adds value only if you can prove that you are able to monetize that list, if you only have a list, but that's it, it will not add much of an additional value to the buyer.

Totally agree with erikgyepes on this.

Ah, OK, so it's to do with rapid location of profitable ads/landers/offers - the speed with which this thing needs to move requires daily feedback so you can optimise fast?

I can see a slower lead time to ROI in an email model would mean you'd need a lot more cash up front to do the testing and pruning out of bad widgets/ads etc.

But if we, as Johner911 says, put in an offer at the head of the funnel just after they have signed up, that may help with that. The goal is to pay for the ads with that offer, then any other sales are straight profit.

Agreed with erikgyepes re list needing to be monetised - we tag buyers as buyers when they buy - I guess a list of buyers is much more sellable.

Great article johner911 - thanks. (One thing - I tried to post the link to my mate on Facebook and Facebook told me their security systems had flagged it as unsafe.)
