Questions on getting started
Though I'm not a total newbiw to affilliates, but haven't had any major success and no experience in Paid Traffic(apart from FB ads, Adwords) and 0 experience with Trackers. So here are my qs, please correct me if I'm wrong in any of my assumptions:
1) As far as I can get it, I think I should start with the 40 Day beginner course here: https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...ntro-and-index , right?
2) I should read the above alongwith, its updated version here: https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...Major-Overhaul , right?
3) The Tutorial talks about using Trackers is a must and suggests Voluum but I see it has increased its price significantly(don't want to invest this much at start), is using Trackers a must? If yes, can I use it Binom in its place and is it as effective? Or is there a cheaper tracker that I can start with for first few months unless I see some success?
Thanks

Depends on what traffic platform you're using and what you're pushing.
Let's say you're running an offer on Facebook, you can assign your payout as the conversion value to the pixel you provided to your Aff network.
Each time a conversion hits, the FB pixel would fire back to FB, and you can track what you're revenue is right in FB's ad manager.
If you have specific variables you want to track, and you can't find an easy way to bring that data together, you could make use of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to get more in-depth.
It's a bit of time sink, but it's not impossible.

I am at the lander portion of the 40 Day tutorial and I opted for FunnelFlux. There is a whole thread and a promo code for Funnelflux here: https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...Your-STM-Promo. I found it very easy to follow along with the tutorial and still implement everything, even though some of the examples are with Volumn.

1) 40 days newbie tutorial can be a good starting point, so yes, you can start with 40 days beginner course.
2) Why not, this is nice follow along too -

3) No,
Voluum is not a must and you can go for Binom. Many other trackers are also available. Choose whichever tracker you want, setup everythig and get started. Good Luck!

We use Binom and loving it so far, no issue there!
40 day guide is really good foundation for running paid traffic (would have to be the best of its kind lol - no guru sh#t!), the only things that change are dashboards of traffic sources, tracking parameters lol and understanding the different sources uniqueness, but that comes from running many campaigns over time.
If you get questions just ask, there are SO many active members here waiting to put their 2 cents in, there are always gonna be different opinions and outlooks, but thats the beauty of this game - There is no one way to make money - there is INFINITE ways.

I had similar questions!
For the 40 day guides, there are no threads in the sections on binom and funnelflux. Is this because those ones are more outdated than the one on Voluum?
if I follow the 40 day guide (which is under Voluum) but i use binom instead of voluum, what problems might I face? Or is it basically the same?
thanks

Most of tracker setup are same and support team of binom is great too. You won't face big issues but if you get into a problem, create a thread here and we'll it figure out.

Amy chose voluum, because at that time it was the preffered tracker by most affiliates ... after the price change, voluum is no longer an alternative for those who are starting out, so more people moved to binom for example. Amy is working on updating the tutorial and if I'm not wrong, binom will be the tracker to used in the updated guide.
But yes, as leadcloak mentioned, most trackers are very similar, so once you learn how to use one, getting used to another one is just a matter of a few hours or less. This being said, feel free to use Binom, you should be able to figure it out by following the voluum tutorial.
