Voluum DSP - Experiences? (6)

Voluum DSP - Experiences?

I have been running Voluum DSP for a while and have been noticing deteriorating quality of traffic over the past 1 week or so to the point when I'm getting hardly any conversions across all of my 5-6 campaigns.

I am planning to now completely switch to the traffic sources directly (RC, MGID etc.) instead of running them through DSP. The only reason I was running through DSP was due to faster approval and ease of usability.

Anyone else experiencing the same - the difference in performance between the traffic source directly and DSP traffic on those traffic sources?

Is it true that the traffic sources give their low quality traffic to the DSP - which is what I have heard from some sources?

DSP is bidding for traffic on your behalf, and competing with other direct buyers at traffic sources. Theoretically the income of DSP comes from the spread between what you pay to DSP and what they pay to the traffic sources. Theoretically as an example if you pay 1$ a click, they might bid for you at the traffic source only 70 cents taking 30 cents as their fee. The less DSP bid on your behalf at the traffic source, the lesser traffic quality you will receive. In my example going directly to the traffic source you would bid $1 which would allow you to receive better quality traffic. I use the word "theoretically" because DSP might have another type of arrangement with the traffic sources.

I did similar thing in the beginning, but what I totally hated is to pay based on CPM for native instead for clicks (while going direct to those networks you can pay for clicks).

Easiest way to burn all of your budget without learning anything.

Thanks Erikgyepes and carramba, and it totally makes sense.

I moved to buying traffic on the traffic sources directly (also moved to Thrїve) and the results look pretty good on Day 2 here after switching. $450 rev with around $70 spent (maybe just a lucky day too).

Can't complain :-)

Ka-ching!

What an amazing ROI!

Do you run crypto offers?

Yes, I did - both crypto and casino. Both of them did well till the end of the day. Got some more leads without FTDs, but at least I can see the angle, LP and offer works and is converting and the potential to do good.
