Optimization Best Practice Question
Should one still create separate campaigns with targets that are performing well when using The Optimizer?

You can. It's called "whitelisting".
But if, when you set up a whitelist campaign, you find that you only get a trickle of traffic that isn't comparable to what you were getting in the original campaign (from the placements you're targeting in the new camp), try this:
In your original campaign, progressively blacklist batches of placements EXCEPT the ones you're wanting to whitelist, starting from the biggest placements. When you start seeing a sudden and significant decline in traffic volume, reinstate the last batch of placements you've cut.

Example: you have 30 placements that all spent $5, you're cut off is turn off the placement is $5 spent and no conversions, so now you have the optimizer disabling those placements, but they may be good performers. All due to a offer tracking issue. If there was a way to just tell it to restart the optimization.

Good tip, thanks. I am using The Optimizer now, the only issue I see with it is that when you have a tracking issue or your offer has a tracking issue, you're stats get messed up, there is no way to tell it to restart the optimization or focus on a different date range... Any tips with that?

I'll let platinum or ervin answer this - they're the true experts on how to use this tool!
Alternatively, you can ask theoptimizer support directly - by clicking on the envelope icon after you log in:
