Reusing credit card from banned AdWords account

I've used a credit card number associated with a banned AdWords account. Can I contact my card issuer to have the card number reset so I can use the card again on AdWords?

yes, better you reset your card and then use on new adwords.

Not sure how recently you guys have tried this, but I looked through my records and I remembered that I tried this last year (2017) and the account got banned for suspicious payment activity. I did some searching around online and I saw a few people saying that AdWords now uses billing auto-updating services which is a service offered by all the big banks. Basically this means that when you cancel a card number with Citibank (for example), Citi provides your new number to Google via their API. Here's the solution to get around this (I haven't tested it yet but others online are reporting success with this method):

1. On your AdWords account that got banned, replace the card number with some card number that you don't care about. This should theoretically remove your card number from their system so they can't use your card number with the billing auto-updater service to get your new card number. We can't really trust Google to do this, so follow the remaining steps to be extra sure.

2. Call your bank and ask them to opt-out of their 'account updater service' or 'billing automatic update' service (every bank has a different name for it). If they don't know what you're talking about, hang up and call again. I just called citibank and they offer this opt-out procedure and it takes 2 business days to take effect on your account. Make sure you ask how long it takes to take effect; it's usually not instantaneous. Keep in mind some banks do not offer this service and they are not legally obligated to do so.

3) Once you've waited the required amount of time for the opt-out to take effect, you can now have your bank reset your card number and use that new card number on AdWords.

One other thing.. has anyone had success in 2018 with employee debit cards or employee credit cards? These get banned quickly for me due to suspicious payment activity. The card number is mostly the same as the original debit card (except for the last 4 digits) so I'm assuming Google does a check to see if your zip code + number in address field (these two values are used for AVS) + first 12 digits of credit card match a banned account. If they do, the account is flagged for manual review.

Have you tried multiple different banks. Little banks & big banks.
I haven't tried that for Google but for other AM stuff where different CC are required with different processors/BINS
it has always worked. I guess this also depends on the banking system and policies per region.
