Out of the Box keywords..
hey guys so i'm running a few campaigns on Adwords and trying to pick keywords that are not related to what i'm promoting. So say you are promoting diet , and you figure well women that want to diet also buy designer hand bags.. well if you target keywords for handbags then you endup with a crap QS and your ads dont show. . am I missing something? Any input would be appreciated.

You are correct, and it'll be harder to convert that traffic as they are looking for the item they are searching for. That said, I've had a winning keyword come up thinking creatively like you have. As long as get establish a good CTR, you should be good.

I would think that if you are creating a landing page. Put a hero shot of a good looking girls carrying a handbag and say something to the effect of "Want to look sexy/hot while flaunting your new hand bags?" Then center your page around the diet solution that would help them. You must have keywords related to hand bags on your page.

so long as your lander is compliant...u are free to target any keywords u like,
and allow the Adwords QS to award a score accordingly.
u might get lucky and find a few keywords that somehow stick, low cost
and no one is bidding for. that means big $$$, 500% ROI.

Why not market directly to the girls looking for handbags and then try to cross sell the diet later on? Doing something like a Pre-pop offer to build a list?
