I've been involved in some form of coreg for about 3 years. The first 1 1/2 years I had no interest/knowledge in monetizing my data. I tried my hand at posting the data into Aweber and using my own followup list, but it was too much maintenance when all I wanted to do was keep pounding out coreg sites (or paths, or "funnels" or whatever).
Eventually, I was introduced to the great industry of Data Managers. They are basically like Hollywood Agents (think Ari Gold), but for you and your data. You post your coreg data to them, they monetize it for you. There are, of course, substantial pros and cons involved.
In the 18-20 months I've been monetizing data I've had 2-4 data managers at 1 time managing my data: phones, postal, SMS and email. Each data manager specializes in a certain area. One manager kills SMS, another murders postal with their full mailroom sending out millions of leaflets per week. Like any aspect of any campaign, testing data managers takes time and patience.
So a quick rundown of the major pros and cons for you.
Pros
1. On average, I've seen an extra $1,000 per month per 10,000 unique users. That's a $0.10 bump to my overall RPU. If you're doing 500k users a month, you do the math. Now a disclaimer: this is using a “perfected system”—the right flows going to the right data managers who have had months to find buyers for my data. YMMV but even a couple hundred bucks per 1,000 uniques adds up big-time
2. Your data list keeps getting bigger, and subsequent months result in bigger and bigger revenues.
3. The data manager does everything. They send you the check at the end of the month. (Although you should offer an unsubscribe button on your website, dump those emails into a database, and then forward that suppression list to your data managers monthly. This can all be handled via a cron job)
Cons
1. Major legal issues: make sure you have a stone-clad privacy policy and checkbox prior to registering. Speak with a lawyer, as all lawyers tend to require different things based on the flow of your LP. And for the love of god, don’t copy/paste a privacy policy.
2. Setup: you will need to make some changes to your code to implement this. This is how I work it:
reg form on my site --> validates --> conversion pixels fire --> data inserts into local SQL db on server --> data posts/redirects user to coreg path part 2: a cron job then posts that data every 10 minutes to my list managers posting url's.
awesome post man....lotta guys in the forums def have been looking for this info....
any data managers you would suggest?
Amazing write up! Are you willing to share some data managing companies that you would suggest we use or that you personally like?
Thanks!
Great post! I was wondering what was the best way to monetize the data coming in.
Glad you guys found it helpful. It's really just the tip of the data management iceberg. Lots of possibilities.
If you push significant volume > 50,000 uniques a month PM me and I should be able to get you set up with my mailer and SMS guy who accounts for about 30% of my data mgmt revenues. He runs most of the monetization in-house, which means its fairly low-risk.
Great write up! What's typically the standard user information to post to the Data Managers; Name, address, phone?
Nice post 777. Thanks for some further motivation.
didn't know anything about this area of data monetizing. so the data managers get the collected info pretty quickly from you, it's all automatically sent to them?
Invisible777,
Excellent thread! I went ahead and shot you a PM regarding data managers. Again thanks for offering so much insight.

I have a lot of data gathered with my landers for co-reg. Do you think data managers can give me extra profit using these lists?
Hey Invisible, could you offer any leads as how to get into touch with reputable data managers? Thanks!
Invis, I can't PM you yet. Please PM/recommend me a good data manager. I want to sell mostly email/cell records at or above the range you suggested.
Guys - I'll post this here for everyone. It's the same thing I'm telling the guys PM'ing me. Right now, my primary data manager won't take on any new files from guys running coreg paths. Coreg data is whored out as it is, and he doesn't think it's worth his while to take on 10 new files of basically identical data (survey/you won an ipad/ppv/popunder). That may change, and if it does I'll do my best to get some of you guys referred over.
As for where you can find data managers: I originally got hooked up with some of my original data managers by asking network owners or AM's for a referral. Network owners/higher-up's monetize their own internal data, so they might be able to refer.
Again, if my guy wants to take on new files, I'll certainly try to get some of you guys running volume referred over.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of learning how to send this info into a database as well as sending them onto the path - I'm a bit of a tech noob.
Thanks
^^ sounds good to me, I'll keep an eye out
Sounds awesome Mr.Baffoe!
oh sweet nana, so leads202 we can set it up on our coreg paths and grab the first page data and store in a DB were we can later monetize it? when is leads202 being released?
well basically im just running a coreg path, but wanted to grab the name, email , phone number on the first page for myself before it went into the network path
hey rich, want to link up on aim or skype, i think we may have some of the same interest on this and could def. benefit from networking with each other. pm me your aim or skype if your down
