Why so many marketing companies go under

I just received this email.

the subject line killed me

"Why You Shouldn't Worry So Much About ROI in Social Media,"

yep... you dont need to worry about making money with social media... it just 'magically' appears :P

Cant wait to see how many small to medium business's go under believing in this 'philosophy' let alone the people pushing it and their services. [ not really. I hate to see anyone suffer and fail. esp. when they did their best]

again... only 3 things matter:

1. ecpm>cpm or epc>cpc [20% at least unless huge volume]
2. volume/demand [if you are making $1 vs $100 a day. you need to look at that piece]
3. time [if you spend 5 days setting up and weeks researching and then the offer or vertical or network or advertiser is now gone with no replacements. the 1st two will not matter. This can be length of offer run to FTC shutting you down.

getting profit+volume+time aligned and in proper ratios = success
add in diversify & money management= successful business
add in R&D = successful long running business

now, right now I have 'fallen down' and 'brushing myself off' but still I can talk about this because when things are 'humming along' and 'ballin' these components are in place. When they are not. Something has happened to get these 'praxis' out of order or in a ratio that 'does not work'. As, I get back to the levels of success I have had. I can guarantee these pieces will be part of it and the reason for my success...again.

"When you have fallen 8 times, get up and go forward the 9th time"
ancient Japanese saying

actually it's "七転び八起き", which means "when you have fallen 7 times, get up and go forward the 8th time"

they already are.

I cant seem to make a post about "something, something 'bad happened'" that about 2hrs later or 2days later I have to re-cant and say "... and now this awesome thing has happened"

what can I say. I live life vs. watch it.

thanks for the encouragement tijn
