Any tips on securing volume at reasonable pricing? (5)

Any tips on securing volume at reasonable pricing?

So these days even though I'm running in the largest geos (US, UK etc), I feel like I'm having trouble securing volume for my campaigns.

So naturally I thought of checking out flat rate deals, but often these flat rates are even more expensive than you could get them on self-serve platforms. Sure the traffic is guaranteed, but what's the point if I have to pay more? lol

Then of course you have to deal with the large cash layout, inability to tweak your campaign etc.

So at this point do I just have to try to add up all these little $50-100/day spend spots?

I have no problem spending the $$$, but it seems like volume doesn't really get you cheaper pricing (at least from what I've seen).

Also say on a platform like TJ, even if you have a high volume spot (ie Pornhub Mobile Footer etc), there are like 20 advertisers dividing this traffic, so unless you want to pay a stupidly high CPC you're stuck again.

Any suggestions would be appreciated lol

Well, that's what competition is about Those with stronger funnels and better payouts can afford to pay the high CPMs ... not much you can do here, just search for the overlooked ones, or work on improving your funnels As you figured out already, flat deals are not really a solution, you gotta buy the full rotation and the pricing isnt all that favorable ... Explore other banner formats too, some have solid volume.

BTW: are you running something on TrafficStars? Their stupid rules make me pull my hair, most of the creatives that have a chance of working get disapproved... I barely buy anything from them anymore.

I used to spend around $500-1k/day on TrafficStars, but the spots I was bidding on seems to have a lot more competition and the prices went up a lot. So I don't really spend much there either any more.

Also I agree I hate the stupid ad rules. I literally have to make separate sets of banners just for TrafficStars which also makes me not want to run there, and yes you can't be aggressive with the creatives which makes it even less profitable.

I still have a small balance left, so probably once that runs out I probably won't run there given the current bidding situation in the placements I'm running.

But yeah their ad rules are ridiculous, especially considering they are the only network that does it like that.

Exactly, some other networks initially came up with strict rules, when google announced their better ads policies, but have later reverted some of those ... but trafficstars keeps on being anal about it. Need to talk to them at the next conference, I don't believe it's not hurting their bottom line.
