Hi guys,
I run a dropshipping ecommerce store and I wonder if any of you gain organic traffic from SEO to ecommerce sites?
Right now I have 90% paid traffic, 10% is refferal and I wonder if it is profitable to use SEO ecommerce products?
What are your thoughts and experience?
Thanks!
Maybe we can get Greg Morrison to chime in on this question. He definitely is the expert on SEO for affiliate sites and local client/leadgen sites! I'd be curious to his thoughts on doing on page and off page SEO for an eCom site, especially one using the dropship model. Or, if paid traffic is just better way to go for overall speed and to testing new products.
As far as the SEO attack, it's usually pretty similar as anything else. You're just going to get the basic on page right (URLs\titles\h tags\basic content)...and then the most important part is the link building.
As far as if it's worth it, you would have to gauge competition to see what type of sites are ranking on the first page. And then after that it just depends on what type of profit margin you are looking at...
But the SEO approach isn't really much different than anything else.
If you need any more specific help let me know!

Greg is the real expert - he's hit the nail on the head.
The question isn't whether ecom products are suitable for SEO or not per se - it's whether low competition keywords with buyer's intent can be found for a specific product.
