Some General Questions About Pop-Traffic

Hi everyone!
So I'm almost ready to start Affiliate Marketing and a FollowAlong. I will be following the 40 Day Pop Tutorial and I have some questions regarding the tutorial:

Is it still recommended to start with Gaming and Sweeps as described in the tutorial? Or is there a better category of Offers for beginners to choose when starting out?

Since using Landers seems to be a must nowadays I was thinking of jumping straight to using Landers after I have set up 1-2 Direct Linking Campaigns. Is this okay or do you think it's better to go through the entire tutorial step-by-step in order to really get a feel for everything?

Also:
$1000/month is enough to start right? That would be around $20/day JUST for buying Traffic. If $1000/m is enough then I can afford to start doing this very very very soon.

That's all my questions for now. I'm so excited to get started and gather real experience. My goal is to master Affiliate Marketing one day and to become an expert
I'm also looking to make friends so if anyone wants to add me on skype just hit me up.

Hello alexander

Sweeps are still probably the most promoted vertical on POPs, so yes, that's where you can start.

Since using Landers seems to be a must nowadays I was thinking of jumping straight to using Landers after I have set up 1-2 Direct Linking Campaigns. Is this okay or do you think it's better to go through the entire tutorial step-by-step in order to really get a feel for everything?
The tutorial is meant to guide you "by hand" through all the steps, it's like a map that you can follow in case you feel lost. However, if you feel comfortable about some parts of the process, feel free to skip a chapter or two. Adding landers is basically just one extra step, though quite a complicated one, since you have to build the LPs. To be honest, it's very hard to make profits without LPs, so the sooner you learn how to work with them, the better.

$1000/month is enough to start right? That would be around $20/day JUST for buying Traffic. If $1000/m is enough then I can afford to start doing this very very very soon.
$1000 is on the lower side for sure, I'd recommend to have at least double the amount ... but of course there were many people who started with lower budgets and still managed to succeed. $20 per day for traffic is an OK sum to learn the basics with, but you will probably run into cashflow problems sooner or later.

Cheers and don't hesitate to ask more questions if you have any,
Matej.

Thanks for the reply!

I can only afford to invest $1000/month right now, but since it seams to be enough to learn the basics I will give it a go.
If I run into cashflow problems I can always just take a break and come back later when I have enough money saved up.

Worth mentioning is that I have about $8000 extra saved up that I can invest if I have a profitable campaign that I need to scale.
The $20-25/day for traffic is just what I can afford to invest consistently om avrage in testing my campaigns.

Ok then, since you have additional funds set aside, feel free to start testing with the limited budget.

$25 a day is sufficient to learn the basic like setting up campaigns and doing some basic optimizations.

For learning the basics it's okay.

And once you hit that winner, you will be able to scale as you have some saved money

Apologies! I thought I had replied to this thread days ago - then I remembered I was replying via my cell phone, and I accidentally touched something and lost the entire post I was almost finished writing.

The main point I wanted to make, is I wouldn't recommend starting with $1k.

Pop is all about testing lots of stuff, finding the promising stuff, and scaling hard and fast to recoup all the losses from the testing.

The $1k MAY be enough for you to find something promising (offer+lander+traffic network), but once you do, if you don't have enough money to scale the campaign, you won't be able to recoup your losses.

Another consideration is that most affiliate networks will only pay out once a month (unless you're making higher revenues, which would be difficult for a new affiliates). With only $1k starting capital, chances of running out of money before your next payment is a very real possibility.

With a budget like that, I would recommend either:

1)Delay in starting your paid traffic journey. Save up for a few more months first. OR, find a way to get more capital (please try to stay away from getting loans or similar, as there are no promises that you will make back your investment).

2)Explore less expensive methods, such as SEO. Greg Morrison has just publishes a VERY easy-to-implement yet powerful tutorial:

Best of luck - and please feel free to ask any further questions!

Thanks for your reply, Amy!
I will definitely listen to your feedback and might wait a bit until I get started. But first I have a few more questions that you hopefully can answer.

I'm getting the impression that you are you talking about JUST having $1000 in total budget? Or are you actually talking about $1000/month, which is what I'm assuming you mean?

I can afford to manage a budget of about $1000-1200/month for at least the upcoming 6 months (and probably for longer). This is money I can afford to spend on learning Affiliate Marketing. I also have about $8000 set aside that I will invest once I find profitable campaigns.

That being said: If this budget is enough for me to JUST start learning and to get some first hand experience, but not actually making it profitable, then I'm going to save this money and use it later when I can afford a bigger budget. I don't really wanna invest that kind of money just to get some experience, and there being no way I can make it profitable.

I'm really hoping my budget is enough to get started, learn the basics, and within half a year make it somewhat profitable. I'm really excited to get started but I don't want to throw myself in head first without thinking it through. So what do you think? Would love to hear your thought on this

That was what I was thinking too since both you and erikgyepes thought it would be enough to get going.
