Traffic Factory mobile traffic, quality down? (34)

Anyone running on Traffic Factory mobile (footer spot) notice that the traffic quality is way down?

I heard they moved the spot recently, but like my LP CTRs are like 1/2 what they used to be.

There seems to be an increase in banner CTR, but this is more than offset negatively by the poor quality.

Curious if anyone is experiencing this as well.

Yes experiencing the same. Their mobile traffic quality is way worse now. Almost advertisers have complaints about it, and some are even marking it as fraud (in some geos).

Ok cool I'm glad I'm not the only one lol.

Yeah like before my LP CTRs were around 20-23% but now It's like 10-12%.

I can't even get close to profitable despite my CPC actually going down.

I'm testing the Desktop too and it seems somewhat ok, but the mobile traffic (at least on the spots I was running) is way off.

I have the same experience here, almost every dating offer was paused due to low quality of traffic. So I switched to COD offers on TF.
However for me it was possible to breakeven and got some profits only when I was running on 1-4th positions. 5+ impressions just don't work for me at all.

Sorry to clarify, but I'm not talking about lead quality, but rather user engagement.

For me the lead quality is fine when the user eventually signs up.

I'm referring to when people enter the funnel, it seems like for me LP CTR has dropped significantly.

I'm not sure if there are just a lot of misclicks or something, but my LP CTR has dropped in half.

And no it's not an LP issue as I'm running the same LP on multiple spots with no issue.

No it's the same for me recently (I run mobile footers)

I do run Desktop as well though, and that seems ok.

But mobile is just not working for me.

My AM from TF asked me about this thread, someone reported it to them, so I told them to get an account here and possibly let us know what happened. Let's see if they do it or not. Would be nice to hear something directly from the source.

The Mobile Footer placement moved to the middle of the page after the homepage. This will likely change the quality of the click.

Bidding on a higher impression might help your LP CTR. Just a thought...

For me it's also not good lately.

Also they keep sending me the Mobile Firefox 48 that I asked them to exclude, but "it's not possible".

They should add more targeting options, there are pockets of good traffic as well, but running it "RON" is very difficult to get any normal returns.

I think moving the banner to a middle position is the problem.

I think middle banners even though higher up, tend to have a lower CTR as people just scroll by them looking for whatever videos they are trying to find.

But you're also prone to getting more misclicks as well when the banner is in the middle spot. So I think these two factors create similar CTRs for the spots, but obviously the user intent is much different, which results in lower quality clicks for the new/current spot.

Just my thoughts.

Guys this thread.. was brought to their attention at Prague TES,
together with some other issues.. such as changing banner formats nonstop, no mobile os targeting,
no ip targeting and .. stuff like that..

Their reply was:
We checked our stats and we have more clicks, so its all cool.

They dont care, I mean they never did care about advertiser part of the equation.
So nothing new on that end.

I dont get their attitude ... one of their rep asked me about this thread, cause someone told them about it ... so I sent a screenshot and, told them to reply or give their stand ... then it was like, hmmm it's $99 a month to join the forum, gotta bring it higher up the ladder if they approve the expense ... I mean fuck me, 99 bucks is a problem for one of the largest traffic networks in the adult space? When a solid booth is a couple thousands ... they're the masters of not giving a fuck about the affiliates.

I guess that TF won't give a fuck about average affiliates while they have direct advertisers paying hundreds of thousand dollars monthly for their RON traffic without any questions.

I was spending like $1k/day there and asked my account manager if they could at least eat the 2.5% deposit fee and I never heard from her again lol

I hate when platforms charge me to deposit to buy their traffic.

I'm not sure to be honest, direct advertisers are an important part of the biz, but without affiliates they would make way less for sure. TF simply isnt the best at communication I'd say

But I finally have a good AM over there and she's Czech, so we can communicate in our native languages, which is a nice bonus

Nutra works on adult traffic too .. testosterone supplements, penis enhancement, erection stuff ... works the same as on any other traffic type. You need a quality landing page and solid banners. For example, I see the titan-gel offer from adcombo a lot on adult sites.

Why should they Matuloo..
You were in SEO game.. you know the carnage google did in past 5 years, pushing big content publishers to top
and devaluating everyone else..

TF is one of the top 3 adult publishers.. they dominate and unless google does some drastic .. really drastic change,
they will continue to dominate.

The trend for publishers is to ditch advertising .. this is already being implement with all of the big 3, with their "red" premium plans and before this rollout it was with their cams programme.
And its business wise the correct way to do it.. Control the vertical 100% as publisher, advertiser and merchant.
Dominate, reduce competition, create monopoly.

On top of that they have really weird command chain, I mean changes are rolled out on platform wiht no heads up to even their own advertiser account team.
However .. it seems to be working.. they are on top

OK I just checked one of my campaigns, TFactory - US - Mob - Footer - Niche1 (very specific niche), and here are LPs CTRs (data is since Sep 26th): http://prntscr.com/l2vtnx The first one of 22% comes from 417 banner clicks on TFactory. Second 0% of course is Direct linking (converts the best for now (338 banner clicks), lol, considering it's US). You never know I guess. I know its not much data for now, we'll see what happens.

Maybe they fixed something... I know in Prague few of us were talking about this issue with a Tfactory rep.

No, we can't. You have to do the work yourself.

And your question about which banner placement is good with TF doesn't make sense. It depends on a lot of factors: what's the banner, hows your LP, your offer, which GEO, which niche, etc etc.

Test, test and more test.

Yeah, this was me and couple of other guys talking to them in their booth about MObile footer placement...... They said that they don't know anything about this, and they will work on fixing it.... I actually got my phone out and went to Xvideos.com (site I never visited before) to show them what we mean

And right, I see now that mobile footer is actually mobile middle..... Not sure why they call it mob footer? it is mob middle, and now they should add mob footer position at the end of page

OR they should add Native Ads, that would be awesome. It's the future.

Valid points for sure ... but there is one thing, the TF rep actually wrote me first, asking about this specific thread (someone reported it to them), saying me that they are carefully watching the results of the changes they make and that they are interested in the feedback. So I kinda thought it was weird for them to ask first, then refusing to do the bare minimum and at least spending a couple bucks to see the discussion

Looks like they have some communication problems within the company ... news don't get announced properly and reps don't even know about them in advance .. they could certainly do it better.
