Crushing Native? (16)

Crushing Native?

I see a lot of guys doing high volumes on Facebook, Google, and adult, but wondering if there's scalabillity on native? Like are there people successfully able to do $XX,XXX daily?

I've been able to hit those numbers, but only on Outbrain/Taboola. RevContent and Content.ad have seen their traffic quality nose dive in recent times.

Outbrain/Taboola have become a lot stricter in accounts and angles. For that reason, they have lower CPCs than I found on RevContent/Content.ad. Also, they have much better cloaker busting.

I know at least several people doing those numbers on native.

AFAIK, It's still a traffic type that has great profits potential.

Thereby I see native traffic getting more and more volume. Buzzfeed kinda websites (but also viral niche kinda websites) are growing like never before and people sharing the viral kinda posts (still) like crazy.

Totally possible. Getting some small but rather reliable ROI on MGID and REV with nutra offers.

Definitely doable!

Hey!
At the moment the biggest scalable ad formats are the uncharted ones. There aren't many around. Native has increasingly became a place for Premium advertisers and it's a lot more strict then it has been let's say a couple years ago. I would recommend maybe trying running on Push notification, It offers you the engagement your getting with Native in regard to text and image and you can still get positive ROI after a reasonable testing budget. , At AdMaven wev'e been testing a lot of Nutra, Crypto, Dating and seeing positive ROI across the board, PM me if you want to hear more

Native seems to be somewhat underrepresented on STM (or maybe I'm just blind), would love to see some bigger players share their insight on this traffic source, there's definitely a ton of potential considering its volume.

Yup, we're trying to work on this and bring more experienced people into the mod team ... but it's very hard to find skilled people who're willing to dedicate significant time to posting. Let's see if we can find someone at AWA

Hey,
yes, absolutely possible. A popular strategy for scaling is running both directly with big-volume networks like Taboola, Outbrain, Liveintent etc. and thru a DSP, simply because the placements are not the same, so it's easy to locate even more well-performing widgets.

Also, I agree with @panthary that Taboola became stricter, so as we speak I'm working on a post "How to get campaigns approved on Taboola" with some insights, tips and examples. Will be ready tomorrow

There's definitely a lot of traffic available on native. I've done 5 figures daily in the past, and I know people / teams currently spending 30 - 50 000 USD daily on Whitehat(and a bit lower on Blackhat).

If you are going to be running leadgen & any other type of WH campaigns your best bet would be Taboola, Outbrain or Gemini. Don't bother with Revcontent & Mgid or Content.ad if you don't have a lot of money to blow to find the right placements.

5 figure days on native are definitely still possible. I'd say focus on Outbrain - Taboola - Gemini - Revcontent in that order if you're looking for scale.

Trouble is most mass market evergreen niches in tier 1 geos are already super saturated on Native meaning a new player looking to take a classic WH native offer - Auto - Solar - Life Insurance etc is at a disadvantage. The guys running BIG volume command greater payouts, have their placements dialled in and their retargeting on point.

If you're looking to be profitable quickly i'd look at tier 2 geos or new niches. If you're looking to run huge numbers then you're going to have to lose money in the short term to get the data and look to increase payouts as you scale. We're doing some good numbers in UK but it's taken some time and funds to get here.
