I found the most crucial part is find out the right audience, so I study the product and try to target by interest or behaviors. But seems it doesn’t work so well now. I heard some big guys go broad targeting, just leave the audience blank and let the algorithm to find the best converting audiences.
Where can I learn something about audience targeting? What is the best strategy?
Thank you.
Can you please provide an example product, how you targeted, and what the results were?
Just to kick off the discussion.
It's always easier when there's something specific to look at, as opposed to attempting a general discussion - because every product is different.
Also: Did you get any customers? If you have enough, you can target a LAL created based on your existing customers.

I think in general every product could potentially be sold to anyone on Facebook. It's just a matter of HOW you sell it to who. If I want to sell a pink bottle of wine with glitters on it I would approach women totally different than men ofcourse.
Example 1: Show a video of some girls chilling on a inflatable flamingo in the pool with the bottles and add a text like "This Could Be You With Your Girlfriends, 50% off NOW Limited Edition Pink Bottles!".
Example 2: Show a video of boy suprising his girl with a Limited Edition Pink Bottle and see how she feels like a princess/diva bla bla"
Same product, total different audience. There is always an audience, just sell a convincing story to the right person.
