Hi all,
I'm pretty new to affiliate marketing so I apologize for what may seem a common question.
I just wanted some advice with regards to my tracking data on a native campaign that I have been running for the last 30 days.
I will keep it simple. The clicks shown to the offer I'm promoting within my
Is this normal?
I have been watching this closely for a little while and it seems to be consistent.
The stats are 747 within the ad network interface and 1434 within my tracker.
I understand completely that the stats won't align perfectly but this seems to be of significant difference. What variance as a percentage across the two areas is considered normal?
My Aff network manager tells me this is normal and I just wanted a separate opinion.
Any suggestions or comments will be much appreciated - Thank You!
Well, ~50% between the aff network and the tracker does seem to be a little extreme. Are you direct linking pops? In that case I could see it maybe, considering it could be the third redirect in the chain, and not sure how fast your aff network is with there's.
So if its pops, I would think it could be on the lower side of what you'd hope for "normal". To potentially dial it in, you could split test a similar offer at another net and see if the click-loss is less. You might also test landers, and see what the clickloss is between LP clicks & aff network visits, and learn something there. (Though I'd expect many of the same users that would've dropped off in the direct-link scenario would still drop off on your LP anyway...)
If this isn't pops, there could be a problem somewhere. I see very little click-loss between tracker and lander for lander clicks to an offer, on display traffic, for example.
Yup, some difference will always be there but 50% is to much... 20% or so is normal, 50 is to much.
I agree with Chris ... there are some traffic types where the difference will be bigger by default and also some GEOs like Thailand or Asia in general, these are known for bigger loss due to connection speeds from the most part.
I would also recommend to check your stats based on IP if possible, some backends only count unique IPs, so that might be part of the problem too.
