Will Facebook Ban Your Ad Account Even If You Go White Hat?
Most people on this forum are running Grey Hat campaigns (Sweeps, etc.) on Facebook. To my knowledge Facebook doesn't like these type of promotions (correct me if I am wrong).
But what about White Hat campaigns?
Like the ones Survival Life, Digital Marketer, Ezra Firestone and others are running.
These guys are patient and think of the long-term. They first get people to subscribe to their email lists and only then to they promote their own or affiliate products.
If you run White Hat campaigns like these, are the chances of getting your ad account banned still high?
I am thinking about using my Content Marketing skills to build an "Authority Site."
I already have a good amount of experience with Content Marketing, Email Marketing and SEO.
I used to build my own blogs (Affiliate Sites) and work as a freelancer helping people with their Content Marketing needs.
Any tips, ideas, suggestions will be appreciated.

I think that's the way to do it.
Use FB Ads to collect your leads and then do the rest in your own funnels (which is a long-term game).
It then doesn't really have anything with FB or whatever traffic source you used anymore.
It's your own list with your leads and you can do what you want, no one will go back, to find your ad on FB and complain on it as it's anyway long gone.
Well, that was a very raw description up there, but I put it this way to get the idea. ^^^
To make all of this work you must give REAL VALUE in the first place.
First give, then receive.
My 2 cents.
Good luck.

Getting your account banned when you run white hat is way less likely. Getting your account banned when you run anything less than white is a certainty, just a matter of time.
Keep in mind that you must not have a connection to any tainted account to truly call yourself white-hat. Otherwise, you will get banned because of your past sometimes.
Your idea to take people off Facebook and have them on your own list is good I think too. That way, you reach your audience over and over again, for free. The key is to offer content that people want, on a regular basis.

You just have to respect their policy. I can run black hat campaigns without a problem if my ads, FB page and all other settings are totally compliant to their standards. If I am going to run Survival Life through a fake "Bear Grylls" or "National Geoghrapic" page telling people they endorse it, you will get banned for sure.
So it's not only the offer/landing page to rely on telling you will get banned or not, it's the whole funnel.

Totally agree with this. With Facebook you're targeting interest, not intent. If you're site content taps into that interest then get their email in exchange for some kind of value and you've turned that click into your own asset to market to when you like. Make sure you're GDPR compliant if marketing to EU traffic also.

It is much less likely if you run only white hat, but certainly not impossible.
Also, if you have an account rep and run only white hat, it is also easier to potentially get unbanned if issues come up.

Only if you run compliantly.
You could very much take any white hat offer and break the rules (maybe without knowing) and get banned.
Also sometimes FB might have a problem and mistakenly ban your account.

Thats the biggest problem, on brand new fresh accounts you can trigger lock outs so easily - Honestly just having a decent little fan page with okay content and boosting a post on it for $10 before you attempt to run any of your WH links/campaigns helps a lot.
Also, if you have an account rep and run only white hat, it is also easier to potentially get unbanned if issues come up.
Yeah agreed, how ever they tend to take time to come to an account, need spend history etc. Also they're sporadic at best for new accounts, like a tiny window daily they reply in and they tend to spin circles on questions so be patient lol

Yes, yes and yes.
I love Ezra and DM and I've been following their business models for two years now. During that time I've burned through around 10 ad accounts. I've not run Black hat before so I don't know how it compares to my experience, but point is just because you're running white hat doesn't mean you are out of the woods.
There's a million reasons why they might ban your account, it might even get banned "by mistake" by their automated triggers, even then getting a hold of them to fix the issue is in vein.
That being said I love being white-hat. There are a ton of benefits.
■ You're building your own business, not promoting someone else's.
■ You're building a customer base through email. In email you can say whatever you want.
■ It's easier to understand your customers. They start telling you what they want.
■ With a good solid business with decent customer service, the longer you run the more money you make. Brand awareness has a cumulative affect, after running for a few years people get so used to seeing your brand that they trust you more.
Plus the average customer after seeing your ad only buys 60 days later. (Wicked reports.) So you'll 100% benefit from this.
If you do go ahead with white-hat,make sure you have the best customer support. You'll be amazed how much of a difference this can make, PEOPLE TALK.
Also, focus on customer video reviews. I love
Boom by Cindy Joesph. It's a company owned by Ezra Firestone (so you should know it,) notice how heavily he focuses on customer reviews. It's on their website, they email them daily and they use them for their FB ads.
Hope this helps.

hey @erikgyepes
We got plenty of ad accounts and all tools to run pretty much any kind of BH content. We are looking to parter with somebody who knows how to handle leads (mail later on a specific topic) and can put up a high converting lead gen page for a specific niche along with the angles and possibly other creatives. We dont have a mail server set up and know very little about mailing and dont really want to use aweber or any of those mainstream providers as they can suspend your account if the unsubscribe rate is a bit above their allowed.
So on our end we can get as many ad accounts as needed set them up in terms of payment method, pages and do the full warm up and run campaigns. Can you advise where could I look for a possible partnership for this scenario ?
Thanks

Please stick to the topic and send PM's for these kind of requests. Thanks.

FB can look at your old grey hat ads - and disable the account for them even if they aren't running. I would say - proceed at your risk.
