I don't want to use bgbng.com, I want to try something simple, and possibly use my existing paypal account to test.

I have never done this before so it would be cool to get some advice on create set up, hosting, development of form, and payment processing, and shipping within the U.S.
A year ago I did this and created a custom 1 page checkout form using the paypal payments pro api. Worked great. If you want the code I could try to dig it up for you.
watch yourself with paypal.....google checkout or anything other than a merchant account.....
they don't play by the same rules as banks do....having your money held for 6 months really sucks ass.....esp if you have a product....
thats my advice.....and I can say that from a very recent experience....

I checked paypal and they have the payflow payment gateway -

2checkout is good for online payments, but not sure if they deal with the product you're selling, as they might determine you need a high risk merchant account.
