STM pre-conference drinks - 17th July, Barcelona

Hi all

I've seen there's quite a few STM forum members going to AWC this year. I thought it would be a nice idea to put a few faces to names before the event itself. If you are arriving on the 17th you are welcome to join me for a craft beer the evening before the conference starts.

This is just meant to be a light social event, let's try to keep the partying under control since none of us wants to be starting on the 18th with a hangover

The plan is to start at 7pm at the Cerveseria L'Alternativa, which is not far from the conference location (and more importantly, the beach). They also have food there. Here is a map:

We'll be here for about two hours (til 9pm). If we are feeling good after that, we can head to Monopol, Hoppiness or any one of a number of well-rated bars nearby.

That's a really good idea.

Wonder if it's not announced too late though. There are already quite a few parties happening on the day, that were announced weeks in advance haha.

I know I already made plans for example. I think it might be the case with many others.

I will arrive in Barcellona in the early evening. If there are no flight delays I could make it to Cerveseria L'Alternativa on time.

Sorry guys, I will not make it to this event.

They oversold my flight so along with 15 other passengers we were denied boarding on to the plane. Apparently I bought a “ticket, but not a seat”. Wtf!?

I managed to book another flight but it doesn’t arrive til 11pm so I will be too late for this drinks event. Y'all are welcome to go ahead without me though!

I would recommend anyone reading this to never EVER fly with Vueling. They are the worst airline I have ever dealt with.

Not cool. I have lost count of how many people lost their flights or the plane was overbooked or had flights delayed since yesterday.

Have a nice trip though!
