Campaign Automation

Hello,

I am looking to get some advice from some of the experienced AMs on this forum with regards to campaign automation. I am still a newbie at this business but I am approaching things in a way that will set myself up for future success. From what I have gathered in my short time in AM is that there are many tedious and repetitive tasks that can take up quite a bit of time to complete. Also, from what I can see is that in order to achieve sustained success in AM, systems have to be put in place that will allow for the rapid quick test of offers and launch of campaigns. I can see it’s all about speed and test test test. The competition is fierce in mobile pops and I believe you have to do things that will give yourself a competitive advantage and that’s where speed and more testing comes into play.

I have yet to turn a campaign profitable but when I do I want to be looking ahead at what will be needed to scale things up.

Hey!

Of course, there are some services you can use for automatisation. But I really don’t recommend them. At least till you have enough profitable campaigns. Because it’s not about speed. It’s more about your “sense” what offer/LP/source to run. To make automatisation you have to know which things you will make automatic. So I highly recommend to do all things by hands, then you can try some stuff. To be honest I have now 2000+ camps live, but I don’t feel tired and I don’t spend much time for them.

Thank you for the good advice. I was definitely not looking to automate before gaining the proper experience as you’ve stated. It was just more or less thinking about things from a strategic perspective. Wow, how in the world do you manage 2,000+ live campaigns manually. You must have some things in place that allow you to quickly react if an offer is paused. I’m assuming you do AM on full-time basis 40-50 hrs per week and have a small team to assist you. I’m working on AM part time as I already have a full time job. However, I’ve been dedicating 25-30 hours a week on AM. On a side note, what do you think are the things that a newbie like myself should really be focusing on in order to achieve success? For instance, my goal within the next month is to learn key tactics through campaign/offer testing that will allow me to run consistent campaigns reaching a net profit of $40 - $60 per day.

No I don’t have a team. When offer is paused I need 3-5 sec to stop in my tracker, because I prefer to keep good structure. I mean understable offer’s names and LPs.
First of all I would recommend to go throw this 40days step by step guide: https://stmforum.com/forum/forumdisp...-s-First-Steps
I would choose AVs and Sweeps as a vertical. Geos: tier-2. If we talk about sources, I would try: PopAds, PopCash, ProprllerAds. It will be enough for you!

Mrbraun has given the best advice.

And when you're ready, check out theoptimizer.io - also do a search on "theoptimizer" in this forum to see how people are using this tool with success.

But like mrbraun has advised: You need to do things manually first to get a feel for things. Otherwise you wouldn't have any idea how to tweak the settings of automation tools.

Have fun and good luck!

Hi rondog770

You can try the ExoClick Bidder to automate campaigns you run on ExoClick. The ExoClick Bidder allows you to automate the optimization of your campaigns by adjusting your bids by ad zone and then automatically blocks non-converting ad zones. It works like having a smart assistant and has 2 functions:

Automatic Bidding – allows you to automatically adjust (up/down) your CPM/CPC bids according to your target CPAs. The Bidder will also automatically blacklist ad zones that haven’t converted when your maximum test budget is reached.
Rules – allows even further campaign optimisation by letting you create your own rules to block ad zones based on the rules you set for CTR, Clicks, Conversions or ROI. You can add as many rules as you like to fine tune the algorithm.

Hope that helps!
