Can someone please tell me what in the world i do with my click URL?????

Hey Guys!!! hope all of you are doing amazing and making bankkkkkkk cause i know im not yet LOL!

But anyways I have been fighting with this little roadblock for literally like 4 days. And for 4 days I get pissed off because I have no idea what to do with the Click URL inside Voluum!!!

I've read threads about it looked at the official Voluum video AND written instructions on the subject and because im not gifted with a amazing brain like all you awesome people i'm here hat in hand asking, NO begging for advice.

It said to copy the click url which is "http://resense-reperoes.com/click" to my CTA button. so do i not add my actual link URL that i get from voluum? or WTF do i do.

Anyways maybe im over reacting and im just in this tunnel vision and all i need to do is think out of the box a little bit and figure it out.

Thanks peeps!

- Jeremiah

Hey Jeremiah, the click url in your tracker should be placed in the call to action button on your landing page. That way, when a visitors lands to your page through your campaign link they are routed to the offer(s) you are promoting.

In case you are direct-linking (not using landing pages) than you don’t need to place your click url anywhere.
Tell us a bit more about your vamp setup so that we can guide you through an actual setup

Hey Jeremiah.

I think you not understand the concept of tracking setup yet, so let me try to briefly describe it:

There are 3 basic elements:

Tracker
Landing Page
Traffic Source

In tracker your add your landing page and create campaign.

This URL of the campaign you have to enter in your traffic source.
This is where the traffic will flow.

Tracker will automatically direct traffic to your landing page(s).

Now that the traffic can flow from landing page to the offer it needs the click URL to be on your landing page (CTA).

Thanks to it the visitor will transition from your landing page to the offer and everything gets tracker, you will see how many people clicked, CTR, CR etc.

Basically the click URL sends them back to tracker and the tracker decides to which offer to send them from there.

This is the basic flow how it works, hopefully it's a bit more clear to you.

Let me chime in too

The problem I had with understanding this concept at the very beginning, was how can I use the same click URL for all my landing pages and then use these LPs in multiple campaigns, when I was using tons of different offers too.

You have to understand one thing, the TRACKER handles the traffic and decides where to send it. It uses cookies or other means of labeling a visitor and assigns a clickID to every single visit that goes through that tracker. So every visit that you send to a tracker gets an ID and this ID will tell the tracker what campaign this visit belongs to. That's why you enter the campaign URL into the traffic source you are buying from, so that the visit gets labeled straight away.

Based on the campaign setup, tracker knows where to send the visit when it comes from the traffic source ... it can go to an offer directly, or to a LP.

If the campaign is setup to use LPs, the visit lands on the LP. Now, we don't want the visitors to stay there, we need to send them to the offer ...either when they click on the CTA or via some autoredirect or whatever ... but we don't want to send them just anywhere, or send all to the same destination ... we want the tracker to handle this and send them to the offer that we configured for the particular campaign. So we need to send them to the click url.

This click url activates a "script/function" at the tracker that checks for the clickID (cookie) of the particular visitor, looks up the campaign that it belongs to and sends the visitor to the offer you configured for that campaign. That's why we can use the same click url for all LPs.

It's an easy process actually, you just need to understand the particular steps

The flow is like this:

- User triggers ad on website
- User gets redirected through advertising platform to your campaign link from your tracker and tracker sets tracking cookie
- The campaign link redirects user to appropriate landing pages for this campaign
- User clicks the CTA on your landing page through your click URL and because of the data in the cookie the tracker knows to what offer the user shall be sent

but how would the tracker know which offer and campaign to send it to if i do not have the campaign URL that Voluum gave me?
Well, the user goes to your campaign URL (from traffic source) and the tracker redirected him to the landing page (where you put your click URL).
The click URL is also part of the tracker, when they click they go through tracker again.
When user landed on the landing page the tracker set cookies or looks at referrers (we don't really need to know how it works technically, it just works )
So then it know what to do, because in your tracker you have to set up the whole flow, which LP to go and which offer to go.
So the tracker connects all these points and do it for you.

I think you will eventually understand it, just let it soak in

If you send a click directly to the LP, the click on CTA will result in an error ... because as you said, tracker doesn't know where to send it.

That's why you need to send the initial clicks to a tracker campaign url, so the whole process can be started ... assigning clickID and sedning the click to where you define in the campaign settings.

I think the biggest thing that pisses me off is that you guys are doing so much to try and help me even though this is probably something really basic to understand but god am i just 1) terrible with tracking and 2) terrible with learning from written stuff And im pissed because im letting you guys down because I cannot get this stuff figured out!!! that's why i almost failed every grade in school.

But you guys did open my eyes alot and know i do know alot more. But I now know what exactly the click url does. But i have 1 more question before i say fuck it and pay a affiliate 30 cad dollars for 5 mins to go through it on a conversation.

Voluum says cope and paste the click URL which is "http://resense-reperoes.com/click" In the body of the lander. Do i paste that whole thing or do i put my Voluum campaign url then add "/click" at the end?

I have a screenshot on my last post could one of you look at it and tell me where to put the click url?

Guys once again im so so sorry for letting you guys down. Figuring this 1 thing out is literally the only thing setting me back from launching camps and for the life of me i cannot figure it out.

Heres an example. You guys ever try and have like 4 guys tell you something really fricken simple to understand and your like "WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT?!?!" then they call you a dumbass under their breathe. I have a feeling this is me right now.

Seriously boys and gals, Bless you with your patience. One day Im flying you guys out to france and gonna have a yacht party

Just leave it as it is, do not add anything more to it.

That's it

The Voluum campaign URL will go to the traffic source when you create campaign there you will have to fill in campaign URL, that's where that goes.

Looking forward for the yacht party!

This might be helpful - http://docs.funnelflux.com/getting-s...s-and-tracking

It's a video I have in our FunnelFlux documentation, which is from the 6 Week AMC. It's a general introduction to tracking.

It goes above what you need to know for basic setup but should be helpful if you want to get a grasp on the fundamentals of tracking, data passing, etc.

Thanks everyone. And Thank you zeno! Im currently at work But i will look over that video and take notes tonight.

Erik Its gonna be a fricken great party man. HOLY SHIT! I think i get it now! I will try that out tonight just for some tests. if it wont work just trial and error till it does. and im sure zeno's video on tracking will have some in depth Information regarding tracking.

LOL thanks guys for putting up for my annoying ass. Me and and that part of AM don't get along to well. But we all start somewhere right?!?!?
