What would you experiened AM folks do with multiple parameters ?

Hi Folks,

Suppose, i have chosen 1 GEO but have a mobile offer that accepts 5 carriers and multiple OSes (i will just choose 2, i.e. Android and IOS to start), plus to make it sporty, i have prepped (or ripped) 10 landers to plug into my tracker.

What would you experienced AM folks do when running a campaign with multiple parameters ? Would you run a broad campiagn first or silo and separate the campaigns right from the start?

I am thinking of starting by lumping them in one single campaign, i.e. 1 GEO x 5 Carriers x 2 OS x 10 LPs x 200 impressions per LP = 20,000 impressions to do a preliminary gauge. (Thinking if i can get 1 click to the offer out of 200 impressions or 0.5%, then that should show promise for further testing or rule out further testing if it sucked worse than 0.5%? )

Or would you narrow it down and set up separate campaigns by carrier?

Thanks in advance :-)
Anthony

Separate campaigns because volume and bids can be very different depending on the carrier.
Other metrics can also change depending on carrier.
And how do you calculate to the 200 impressions per lander?
Probably that won't be enough at all.

When the offer accepts all different carriers you still could run them all in one campaign to get more volume.
Sometimes the trafficsources give more volume when you target broader.
But I would run separate campaigns.

Another vote for separating it right from the beginning ... GEOs, Carriers ... these perform very differently, it's impossible to bid for all at the same time without losing on some and not bidding enough on others ... GEOs require different LPs (language) ... not even mentioning how much of a mess you would end up with, in terms of optimization.

The only time I run a GEO/carrier mix, is when the source sells global rotation at a VERY discounted price, which is rarely the case these days.

If you are starting off with nothing then an option would be;

start at OSx2 campaigns with geo target specific.

Depending on performance then split out carrier to the OS.

Placing all in 1 campaign can make things challenging later on with investment, bids and more to the best performers. The option is yours depending on what you are willing to put up with.

Plus from a reporting view it makes it easier to view your results so you know what to separate rather than having to split hairs.

Happy hunting
