Similarweb - best competitive intel tool?
I've been using Similarweb for many years, and I find it to be one of the best intel tools in our space.
Referrals and Popular Pages have been massively useful for me and my team.
That said, I'm keen to know who else is using it, and how are you best utilizing it?

Love this tool as well, always have their extension installed in my browser.
Some ideas:
- check upstream traffic
- check downstream traffic
- check sources of traffic (does it have lot of organic traffic? if yes, the quality might be better than from referrals/direct which could be just cheap pops for example), also check the length of those visits to validate this hypothesis
- check top geos
- check the volume history, is traffic on this site growing or rather declining?
These are some basics of course, but very good clues when you have presented them together to get idea of the traffic.
Back in the days we used it also for spying, popular pages could reveal otherwise unvisible landing pages (this was before spy tools like Adplexity existed)

Hard to say if it´s the best tool or not.
I would say it depends alot on what you are doing with it.
For many affiliates Adplexity will be more than enough but when I ran PPV I also used Similarweb to get better insights about referring URLs, network URLs and so on.

Simweb is expensive but powerful. Traffic data is not always correct but still useful to identify great intel.
Be careful with the sim web extension in your main browser that you use for your aff business - actually be careful with many many extensions - as they all report data of urls you visit to SimWeb and can result in you sharing into with sim web, and its customers, you may not want to share.

Yup I've found Similarweb data to be pretty inaccurate at times, but the overall picture it provides is still good.
My fave is still Popular Pages – lets me see the pages with the most traffic, and that's really useful.

Thanks for the headsup, just deleted the SW extension.
