Questions about creating a website and business license.

Hello all,

I am curious other’s opinions about the value of having a website and/or business license for a beginning marketer. I have seen it come up in all of the applications for networks. Here are a few questions I have.

Should a website simply be a personal site or a website that is used to market offers (or both)?

Does having a website and/or business license show that you are serious about marketing and improve your chances of being approved?

Would it be wise to hold off either of them until I have more experience in AF?

Thanks in advance

Having a website is a "small" plus ... it's not really needed for AM campaigns, but as you said yourself, it shows you are serious about the business and might help you with being accepted to some networks for example. But it's NOT a must.

As for having a business license ... this is quite possibly required by law, at least in my country it is, not sure where you are from thought so can't give you advice here. In my country, when engaging in business activities and profiting from them, you definitely need to register as a business. There are certain workarounds for low income activities, but that's not gonna be the case with media buying, where large AD spend is a norm. On top of that, EU based traffic sources do charge VAT do end customers, so you need to be a registered VAT biz entity in order to be able to reclaim VAT payments or be exempt from them since this is a b2b type of service. And you can only register for VAT as a business.

Cheers,
Matej.

I am not currently sure if it is required to have a business license in the United States. I will have to look into this. I don’t think this is the case. However, I should find out.

Thank you for the information.
