I own kind of premium domain, is it ok to start with drop shipping then later change the model and build my inventory for better shipping and more solid brand?
Also, does the drop-shipping model work well with clothing products?

I think drop shipping in the beginning is fine and as long as you are able to maintain the quality and line of products for which your online store is known that should be totally fine.
When building your own inventory you must be very careful with stock management and have a sharp understanding plus tracking of all operational costs.
Nothing wrong with drop shipping to start with.
Just make sure that you actually test what you want to test with dropshipping.
For example:
- what the ideal pricepoint is for item X, Y, Z
- which items sell well
- which ads works
- which markets / customers work well for you
If you are testing, make sure to test extremes and not be held back by your own view of things.
Like pricing: sell a product that cost you 5 for 25, 50 and 75 for example. Then see what's most profitable, both in percentage and overall profit for the business (which is volume x profit per item)
With this mindset, you'll likely get insights that others won't. These will be very valuable longterm.
No matter whether you stick to dropshipping or evolve from there.
