2 different ad accounts. Exactly the same ad setup.
Tracking URL of the ads as
http://trkdomain1.com/?FBplacement=&...t=&FBcampaign=
http://trkdomain2.com/?FBplacement=&...t=&FBcampaign=
and in both ads the same exact text in the URL parameters box:
FBplacement={{placement}}&FBsource={{site_source_n ame}}&FBcreative={{ad.name}}&FBadset={{adset.name} }&FBcampaign={{campaign.name}}
First tracking link passes correctly dynamic information to tracker, second does not. WTF.....
Any ideas...?
From what I’ve read, a couple of months back, Facebook released these dynamic URL parameters for better tracking. But somehow it was sensitive to abuse so they removed them from the help page without notifying anyone. It has been reported that on some ad accounts it still works and some not. I guess it just depends on how lucky you are.

That's what we have seen as well. Works for some people, not for others, depends on ad type it seems.
I was so happy when they finally added this and then was shocked when they silently removed it from the help page and the functionality itself.
I mean, why? If anything this is the most helpful thing they have ever added for coherent tracking for any/all platforms that manage advertising creation.
Yea, it doesn’t work on some of my accounts. It is definitely inconsistent. Im back to manually entering url parameters for now.
I don’t understand how this can be sensitive to abuse.
I really hope this feature stays.

As of today they seem to have removed pixel and dynamic parameters section altogether when creating a new ad. That means you have to add parameters directly on the tracking link of the ad.
Seems campaigns that started up to yesterday still take into account/run on dynamic parameters previously specified even though you CANNOT access them right now to edit them on current ads. Same with pixel. LOL!
Well played Facebook.
Also some people reporting inability to target by interest...
