Hey STMers, are there any types of "forbidden" words in the email headline that will get triggered as spam?
e.g all Capital letters
$ dollar signs
"Make Money"
or something like that
edit. Does these words apply to the email message too? not just headline
Also, if you are whitelisted to your list, then am I right to say that you can post anything as your headline and still get into Inbox?
I have a few people added to my contact list that still go in spam because of the type of emails they send. Generally applies to affiliate networks.
There are certainly a few keywords or phrases that if they are too common are likely to trigger some spam filters, both in subject lines and in the email.
I've ran into this issue with WHAT THE AFF, which is much higher quality already than most newsletters so I can imagine if you do really spammy emails, you will have a super hard time.
All the tips I've seen around are pretty much the same and can be summarised like "make it look like an email from a person". No rich design, not many links, etc.
Other things that could get you a bad spam score is "!?" in your subject line. I wanted to use it but got warned it lowers my quality score.
You can find lists of spam filter trigger words in the following articles:

Best of luck!

Thanks for your replies..
Just a follow up question
I've already started running traffic to my email list but I'm not sure if my email domain will get triggered for spam too?
All the examples above are for subject line words, but what if my domain which I send the email from has the Spam Trigger words?
e.g Financialfreedom.com
