The crazy thing to think about is all the other thousands or hundreds of thousands of equally simple and profitable ideas that are out there still that will be developed over the next few decades.

Their revenue (not profit) is about $2-3B a year.
How is that worth $100b?
They've got 800,000,000 potential leads. Each one is valuated at ~$130 :-)

Bricks and mortar businesses have their value defined by their revenue multiplied by the certified valuers number. For example a real estate agency generates $500,000 or rental fees charged into the business, to sell the real estate rent roll its $500k x 2 = $1 million dollars to buy it.
Newspapers can be valued as high as 40 times their advertising revenue. ie $1 million per year in fees = $40 mill to buy the paper.
Different business have different values. Facebook is obviously being valued on it's potential - which in business terms is fucking huge.
